This man is my school janitor currently, I played in pep band for him. He also worked with my dad at Footer's in the past. God bless him and I'm so happy he won. I watched all of these on live TV, but, why not rewatch them? Edit: I forgot about this comment, but I have some more news about him. When he won AGT he got a new car and a million dollars. I forgot where he said he's moving to (I think it's Florida), but I believe he's going to be moving soon. For now, he's still a janitor at my school. The day after winning, I was on the bus going to school and I saw his new car parked in my school's lot. It's a beauty to see in real life. He also sometimes does speeches in my high school's main announcement spot. He talks about how surprised he is that he won and how grateful he is for it. My school made their own AGT trophy for him. Also, the pep band I'm in played for him again! We played Don't Stop Believin' and Crazy Train. Once again, God bless him and his whole family's soul. Go Richard! ANOTHER EDIT: I haven't seen him at school these past few weeks so I think he moved to Florida recently.

I’ve only heard the first song and I’m commenting - this is what AGT is all about. It’s not about someone who’s been doing something professionally for a while to come on as a publicity stunt. This man is the epitome of America’s hidden talent amongst people who’s been lost in the business of life. Congrats Richard and well deserved!

absolutely!!! i love seeing younger talent too, but so many of those are just like sob stories or only go far because they’re younger i feel like. i love that this is an older guy who is working a very humble job. loved by his community, an all around diamond in the rough. this guy is so delightful.
@HardxCorpsxKali5 күн бұрын
Yeah I agree with what you’re saying but…. Like not to take away because he is truly a good man and I love him as a person but his vocals are only decent. He did not have the most talent out of every person on the show and I didn’t even watch the season…. He won because of emotions. Not talent. Which is fine but you certainly have to recognize he’s not overly good at singing. Only good.

How much talent we never hear.... in basements, cars, churches, showers, little local clubs..... and schools!! Exactly! There are probably thousands of people out there that can cover a couple of songs, and sound as good - or better than the original- maybe YOU? He did mangle the song second one. But, everybody felt sorry for him and voted for him. He's NOT Vegas headliner material. Roni & Rhythm displayed REAL talent - as did several others. If you read the comments, you'll see that most people just got a 'warm & fuzzy' feeling voting for him. NOT that he's better than the others.

Other possibilities came to mind over the years but I felt so incapable. The costs were out of possibility, I thought. 21 years later I'm still broke. Still homeless. Careerless. Looking back I would've been more daring. See things from the possibilities of them vs impossibilities. You go for it!!! Do not be like me. Please don't waste your life. You are not done. As someone who's sat in the crowd for an AGT show, the people may be random people but they're trained before filming begins. They are told to hype people up at specific times as the camera is more likely to film them if they react more. They even teach you about specific signals that designated sections of the crowd should be reacting to. For instance, if your birthday falls somewhere in the first half of the year then do this, if it's in the last half then do that. I can't remember exactly how long the training lasted but unfortunately it is kinda produced. Even the seating isn't so random, they have people who "inspect" everyone visually as they're entering. They provide them with a seat either on the ground floor or on the balcony depending on whether they're deemed fit to be in front of the camera. So the crowd's reactions may be genuine but also overhyped at the same time as they want the camera to pan to them

Make friends with the janitor everywhere you go. They are all interesting people and when you find one with a big heart, your life will be changed. They know everyone, they know who to get in contact with, and they always know the dirt so they can give good advice. I worked IT in a school for a while and the janitors were my best friends there. They were always ready to lend a hand if needed and knew what was up in the building. But by far my favorite was meeting the Eastern European (can't remember the exact country) janitor in college. He had so many cool stories and he was so personable, but he always took an interest in what everyone else was doing. On top of that, he cared for his disabled son outside of work. The man has a heart of gold and even though I rarely see him, we both light up when we get the chance to say hi. He's also the biggest fan of Busch Beer I've ever met and the way he said it fast with an emphasis on both Bs in his accent will never leave my memory. Janitors are just different. @@thewarriorreturns9179I’d much rather listen to someone getting emotional with their voice cracking, than someone that makes you feel nothing when they sing but hits every note perfectly. Conveying that emotion can’t be taught.

Every song he sang touched my heart and soul. I literally had tears in my eyes when I listened to him sing. I’m so glad he won 🎉🎉🎉. He deserves all of it. When a singer brings tears to my eyes, I know that person is very special ❤❤❤❤. Whitney Houston had a wonderful voice. The first time I heard Celine Dion sing, I was in my office. I was a loan officer. I was typing in a loan. I had my radio on. I listened to music all day as I worked. Then, a song came on as I typed in a loan. Dion’s voice started to sing. I stopped typing and my eyes raised up to my radio. I’m like, OMG!!! Who is that? After the song, the DJ announced her name. I wrote it down and purchased my first Dion album. The point is, she touched my heart and soul with her voice. I’ve been her big fan ever since. Richard gives me that same feeling. Honestly, he’s the first singer since Celine that has touched my soul that way. I had tears every song he sang. I’m so proud of him!!!! He deserved to win. Keep it up Richard. You so deserved it ❤❤❤❤❤

There is something so undeniably special about Richard. To hear his story all started with the words of kindness and encouragement from the students… it’s just amazing; how some simple words of kindness can alter people’s lives by giving them the confidence to take a chance.

Richard congratulation. I felt in my heart from the very first time you sang you were the winner. There really is something special about you. I know you had me crying with every song how special you made them. You give me hope about our future! Please don’t change how humble you are. We love you❤

I'm not one to go to rock concerts, but I would line up to pay to hear him at a huge concert venue. He feels with his entire heart, soul and voice every word that he sings. I get goosebumps of the heavenly kind every time he sings. What a genuine soul!

My husband calls Richard my boyfriend because at his very first audition, he stole my heart. I was so happy he won, I did the best happy dance I could do, a happy dance is hard to do when your chair has wheels lol. Congratulations Richard, talent doesn't discriminate, it doesn't matter how old you are, where you come from or what you look like, it's something we're born with, and Richard you have so much talent, it oozes from you, I'll be looking for a CD in the stores from you. We love you

Richard is an example of why humanity can be special.. You don't need to have loads of money, know big time producers, or celebrities. You just need to have that raw talent and a belief that you can do it... Richard's lesson to us is.. believe in yourself, follow your dreams
