A great part to me is how his father saw what his son had done. Even though he'd been a cantor now he sang for everyone and his father saw that how they loved him and his marvelous music and tribute to our great nation with it's freedoms. It's too bad we can't see the whole movie.

That was all Neil Diamond. He did that pose on his own which was super cool and the movie people used that pose and made it work for the film's poster.

This song is amazing. For those who immigrated to America, it must be amazing seeing the statue of liberty. I can't imagine it. But to those who were born and raised here, know how blessed you are to be an American. Only country that has this freedom and should show respect for it and stop whining about the problems with America and strive to make a difference by example of the life you live, way you behave.

One, you may want to look into how they were actually received. Two, you may want to read about how important it was to these immigrants to maintain a piece of themselves and their former homes while still managing to assimilate…become Americans (as T. Roosevelt put it no hyphens, and room for but one flag.) Finally, we are still THE PLACE that people seeking a better life are welcome as a guests who may/will eventually become friend and family. The expectation is just as it is with most people’s homes. Knock, introduce yourself, stat your purpose, explain how you will contribute, then be invited in. With the volume of people who wish to seek something better (because it is better) here, there will be limitations on how many the house will hold, how well they understand the house rules and their new role and responsibilities to rest of the household. Schools used to be able to reaffirm these values to native born and immigrant children. Parents, native born and immigrant, laid those foundations at home. There was a sense of cultural norm. So, people understood where and how they fit into the picture. The picture was blurry sometimes, and sometimes miscreants tried to ruin the picture. It a Polaroid picture that is always developing. Sometimes it just needs a little shaking.
