For a country founded in the late 1700s, for a some 200+ years it seems really dense but a lot of these were wars centered not on great foreign ambition like what the more recent conflicts in the middle east could be called, but the early conflicts (revolutionary war, civil war, the war with mexico, the war of 1812) these were the birthing pains of a continent sized nation. Even then, at such a tumultous time, many other well established powers (UK, France) went through far more conflict in these last 200 or so years - remember Napoleon and the scores of revolutions in the 1800s.

Unsalted Salt it was an American invasion gone horrible wrong. The CIA was sent in to kill Castro. The bay of pigs was a failed military invasion of Cuba undertaken by the CIA on 17 April 1961. A counter-revolutionary military group made up of mostly Cuban exiles who had traveled to the United States after Castro's takeover, but also some US military personnel trained and funded by the CIA had intended to overthrow the increasingly communist government of Fidel Castro. Launched from Guatemala and Nicaragua, the invading force was defeated within three days by the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, under the direct command of Castro.

The main reason it was a failure was because the invasion didn’t have nearly enough aerial support, because I don’t think the president permitted it.

We had actually thought about making a scene for the Barbary wars, but unfortunately ran out of time while focusing on the other builds and it was not our priority, but nice noticing that! It is often overlooked, even by us apparently :)

Christine Macdonald that was pikket's charge (infantry) at Gettysburg on the 3rd day of the battle. It's what broke the confederate forces and basically turned the battle. And like I said it was an infantry charge... Not Calvary

Colonel Frost I think he meant after Gettysburg about 10 miles out of the town, Union cavalry led by Custer fought against confederate cav in a cavalry only battle.
