Excellent advice. We are currently in the process of training a 1 year old X-L bully who never received any training at all. Having raised and trained 3 Great Danes we are at a slight advantage from his previous owner who couldn’t cope with him.

My 10 week old American bully and 11 month old, olde English bully have literally done all these things you've described. Now I know where to start to correct these behaviors. Especially because they nip at my kids A LOT.
@QBNKennel3 жыл бұрын
Yes that must be corrected

I hope you were able to get that under control
@kennedyvyce23172 жыл бұрын
@@salblydenburgh3972 yes. Unfortunately, I had to rehome my English bull dog to a home that didn't have kids. She got increasingly uneasy around kids, would lunge at toddlers and did end up bitting. Even with LOTS of exercise and working with her, she just did not like children. My 10 weeker is now 14 months and there are no behavioral issues whatsoever because I taught the kids how to conduct themselves around the dog. In general, her temperament is better suited for my kids and household.
@salblydenburgh39722 жыл бұрын
@@kennedyvyce2317 omg, yeah that's scary.. I'm sorry you had to get rid of a dog that I'm sure you loved.. I'm happy you don't have to worry about your kids being mauled though. You definitely did the right thing for your situation. That's awesome that you didn't have to put the old English bulldog down. I'm glad you found the right situation for that dog and yourself.
@kennedyvyce23172 жыл бұрын
@@salblydenburgh3972 thank you! It was definitely a painful decision to make. Best part is, she was rehomed one block from my parents house. So we still get to see her from time to time, and she's thriving in her new environment.

I used many of these methods with my male from day 1 and he's great and knows his place and never challenges me for dominance. Recently Ended up helping a buddy by keeping his 3yr old female standard and you can tell he let her do alot of things you pointed out in the video. I'm in the process of getting her trained to my system just like you said with playing, eating, bathroom etc but it's challenging and I can see how easily a half trained dog can throw off other dogs in your yard if your not on top of it. Once again great video fam.

I agree with all of the dominant acts except the couch I rescued a dog once it was a hunting dog some form of hound and it was about a day away from death I nursed it back to health and kept it till I could find it a home it was scared of everything leaves the wind everything for some reason it would get on the couch it had not a dominant bone in it’s body it just liked the couch
