As a Kenyan, I think it's because South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana is more popular/international entertainment wise. Every country has their own dances, yeah some might be better than others but it all comes back to how popular the country is to the outside world.

@@ponalonotwane4224 And none of this videos has ever done odi dance justice. They pick clips of drunkards dancing in the streets or something. They never pick videos of natural dancers dancing professionally. And I've seen many other dance moves in this video they pick the clips of the worst dancers trying to dance. It just pissed me off. They could've just done a little more research instead of just rushing for some quick views. Quality matters. Or maybe it's just me that noticed.

Every lunch time at school after eating is a dance session in South Africa( not official) but that's we do. Someone will randomly start a song and another starts dancing and right there is the start of a competition. We mostly learn by watching then when you go home you practice with your siblings to the dismay/ delight of parents. Sometimes we used to serve as free entertainment for our parents when they are relaxing with their friends they will call us to come and dance for them.

We do this in Florida as well. Back in the day there would even be talent shows in the community once a month where dancers could win $500. What I loved most was everything was authentic! The love, the dances, the fun! Culture at the root! I would pay to be in that corner that has blk ppl from across the globe just being free amongst themselves as u mentioned while exchanging culture and having a great time! Good thoughts.

No lie said here . When I see all things about Africa accentuate around English speaking countries I’m like how about the others as if you really know the countries like Congo ( French ) Ivory Coast ( French ) have been doing it wayyyyyy before these countries named in this video for example. But unfortunately the aren’t anglophone hence no influence in the Uk and America . KOFFI Olomide, extra musica, Dj Arafat (RIP), and many more sported a lot of these moves we see popular in anglophone counties nowadays

I’m from Florida where we loveee dance in fact many of the dances that are popular in the afro American community came directly from us (even if ppl don’t know it). The word twerking created by others that were impressed by our dances erased hundreds of dances that have their own names and places of origins. As a creator and dance fanatic I have always been impressed by African dances especially when it comes to their footwork! I tend to appreciate most from the sidelines Bc it truly is impressive. It was cool to see dances that are similar to what we did and have here in the USA like the one that resembled the James Brown, #12 and #20. Although I have MANY favorites from africa that last dance #1 just might be my fav of all time. I catch myself even doing it at red lights lol.

We don't have fitness classes lol. Usually, from a young age, our parents would make us (along with our siblings and cousins) dance for the whole family and turn it into a competition for money. 🤣Dance is war. Also. It is incorporated into so much of our culture and daily lives that it can be seen as quite odd if you CAN'T dance. (We know some people just have two left feet. But rhythm is essential)

To answer your question on the fitness class, the daily life of an average African is a Fitness class lol. We do a lot of manual work since most africans don't have access to or can't afford the priviledges that you see in first-world countries. So things like fitness classes, yoga, etc, are generally for the rich who can afford to get out of shape.
