[00:00:01] Today, I've got a Craftsman style house for you in Perryville. First, I want to show you the location. First off, look at the neighbors here You got flags. So you've got more flags. Me, a photographer for magazines, we say. Always said if someone has a flag outside, it's usually pretty nice house and helps cheer a lot of sense. Look how interesting that house is. That house. Look how interesting this place says and this is the subject house will show you in a minute. But just so I'll show you here. You're a block and a half from the state highway, 150. So you grew up here. First of all, post office right there. See that gray car is right there. That's post office. What's next? The post office? A bank, of course. What's cross the street? Another bank. It's 2 convenience stores in town. Great little town. It's another much it's a little historic town. Got a couple of antique shops and, you know, it doesn't have much more than that. But it's great because it's nice to live nowhere. Sometimes, you know, you just want to get away from it. 150 make it right 8 and half miles. You're in Danville College Town, left Angola, Bardstown and Louisville and everything. It's really nice. So Perryville isn't big. It's about four blocks on this side, about three blocks on the other side, the highway and you got the historic district and you've got this Craftsman style house for those of you. [00:02:04] If you've got kiddos, really good school system, the Boyle County school system, you can look at school report card online or any of those Web sites and you can see it's very desirable school system and you're in it right here. OK, class coincide so first of all, people just moved. So not everything's hundred ten percent out. You've got wains coding on the ceiling. You've got the old style boards that go this way. Remember, everybody's grandmother had one that was painted battleship gray. Right. Real slick paint. Look how big this porch. Nice. At least six feet wide this way. But here's the interesting thing. Lots of beveled glass. And 4-foot-wide doors, every door is like four feet wide. It's crazy. Let's just go on inside and see what's going on in the house of many doors. So I tell you, the good, the bad, the ugly, right. Where do you see. Foot 4-foot-wide doors.
[00:08:58] Did you see yourself here, all the little roads in Perryville that kids can ride bikes out there? It's not too far to the school. There's a Dollar General here and that's kind of nice to have if you're not familiar with Dollar General. It's like a micro Wal-Mart. They actually have more stores than Wal-Mart does worldwide. Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart's worldwide DA generally has stores in the United States have more stores. So it's like a micro Wal-Mart and they're open 7 days a week from like 8:00 in the morning till 9:00 at night, 10:00 at night. Something like that. So, again, there's the pool. Just imagine that either another pool or this yard all into garden and whatnot. This is the little garage. You know, in my opinion, I'm just being straight up with you. You're my brother or sister. I would tell you the same thing. This is not big enough for regular garage to today's standards. When you turn this into a little guesthouse or a little changing room or a little potting shed or something, a painting house, this is a doll.

Californian/Non-Architect here. Have "California Craftsman" Style, honestly don't know if same, or just similar. 1920: HAIL NO !! Wood with Grain Showing is NEVER to be Painted. Because the Craftsman Building the House had preselected & inspected the wood being used to build the Home, ensuring the very best wood was used and only the Best. So, the fashionable trend was to have all bare wood items/parts to have a Dark Mahogany Like Stain for Uniformity throughout the Build, then multiple layers of clear/glossy over coats of Shellac for protection. Painting any wood back then was only to protect home from outdoor elements if Outdoors, or to conceal a flaw, repair, or defect if indoors. 2019: 'Shady' ! Must say this Home is of outstanding features inside & Out, especially for its Realistic Size. My Children are already grown or this Bedroom would have been Perfect for us, tgen. Most Craftsman homes have STAINED & Leaded Glass features, and were NOT built for the lower 99% of Americans, thus Square Footage in Multiple Tens of Thousands, for the upper 1% that must have everything, and need places to store stuff, display stuff, Host events sized from intimate dinner for 2, to a Banquet sized crowd, in any Season comfortable, welcome and overwhelmed by the Building and everything on Display for viewing at certain temperatures for their Investment level taste in furniture, Art, Horses, Home Design, Automobile Collections, Personal Assistants/Paternity Scandals, Clothing, Jewelry, etc., to create a demand for the Sale of more, of these items, like a modern commercial in a certain crowd. IF I were in the Market for a house of this size, THIS WOULD BE SOLD ALREADY (lol) and I'd be on a Plane to Kentucky before Breakfast, to go sign the Purchase Doocuments. The few details I didn't see on this home, a Designer may have not installed for slight modernization or more recent knowledge that exterior Trim can cause long term Repair needs, new Codes, etc. On a Scale of 0 to 10 regardless of style, this house is easily a 9.0 just for quality throughout. That is a *Craftsman-Style* *Bungalow* *Home....* I mean it is a beautiful home with beautiful details...and I whomever purchase this beautiful lady will not paint the woodwork! *PLEASE* *DO* *NOT* *PAINT* *THE* *WOODWORK!!!* Older homes are my passion! I love'em!.. The wooden floor patten are called *The* *Diagonal* *Patten* there isn't a special Patten names like, The Chevron or Herringbone Floor Patterns, it's just a Diagonal Patten

It is better not to paint wooden products. It is especially scary when people paint old wooden furniture, which is full of details.

You mentioned in your video the floor pattern, you weren't sure of the pattern. It's called a Chevron pattern. Being the wife of a "Wood Wizard " who was the creative master behind the building of the most beautiful homes on the island of Palm Beach. Featured in Architectural Digest 3 times. Noted for building Mrs Katherine Ford's home. So, I think ( From my experience) your most descriptive in the information. Now you know about that flooring pattern! Great home, I enjoy the woodwork!

Except for the location, and a couple minor remodel issues of a personal nature, that house is AMAZING! Needs acreage, with trees, and less of a neighbor presence though.

I'd say this is a craftsman style mixed with farmhouse style. Craftsman style houses are generally longer than they are wide. It does have Craftsman elements such as the front porch, the posts, and the front Dormer, but it's General shape says Farmhouse to me.

This is one beautiful 100% craftsman, one of the most beautiful homes ever built !! I would cut off the persons hand that ever painted that beautiful wood !! The pool would be brought back , I would refurbish that house as a guest house, shabby chic style , small bathroom, kitchen , living room sleeping area . My grandaughter would live there while attending school and working . I would replace the kitchen with new appliances, have the floors sanded and sealed again , find a master wood worker from Kentucky and shine up all the beautiful wood . This home is a dream home!! Stunning , just gorgeous!!

@3:47 NOT Oak, fir, was very popular from the late 1800's 'till recent. Oak is cut in short length's for less movment, fir is cut in 12' length's for ease of handling. Fir will wear like iron, surviving century's if well taken care of!!!! I was pleastly surprised to see the wood was NOT painted, please DO NOT encourage people to paint that fine wood!!!!

I love all natural wood big door ways, the floors staircase and doors between rooms, upstairs railings, just a beautiful old house, So what is wrong with the pool? Fixable? 4 yr old tour so no doubt gone but I do really like this house. You did not mention price however and that is something people who cannot be there really want to know.
