I used to always watch this show with my siblings and dad ever Sunday. He would just tell me stories of his childhood in Philly and how his sister used to be on American Bandstand. It's amazing how much has changed in 20, 30, 40 years.

this was a great show. I lived through the times and this show is very accurate was a different time than today was a time of hope. not like today when so many things are false lost and has no meaning no hope no truth just false living in life absent of being church hope life Christ . hope they will put this back on air miss the times and life back then a changed world today

This show was simply wonderful and reminded me of our childhood and my family. I grew up between London and Los Angeles,California. We lived in a old house built in the turn of the century. So the show also reminded me of that house so long ago torn down and forgotten by everyone but my family. I now look back and remember what a great time it was the music and the cars and clothes. They should never have gotten rid of this show.

I love this song and I loved the show. NBC made a big mistake, cancelling it so soon. They could have easily done a few more seasons.

Thanks for this video!. It took me awhile to get over that knuckle head network screwing with this show. I saw for $100.00 you can get all 61 episodes on DVD! Now you can revisit a time when watching TV was worthwhile!

Definetely one of the best shows NBC ever came out with NBC's biggest and most STUPID mistake was cancelling this show I still remember that night I was waiting for it to come on and it never did. They could have done so much more with that show so much......Those decision makers at that network must have been doing crack and heroin all at once!!!!

i miss american dreams, it was GREAT SHOW. i used to like watching it with my dad, he was born in 1952, so he liked the 60s nostalgia, with the music and the events that he lived through. too bad it got stuck in ratings/time slot hell and slowly died. :(

A good show at the twilight of the "appointment tv" era when people would make it a point to be home to watch a show. I think as a Netflix of Amazon show today it would fare better. There were too many times when it would be 8 o'clock on Sunday and you'd turn on the TV and this show was NOT on for some reason. Look on wikipedia for the air dates of the episodes and you'll see what I mean. This also would have done better in a less competitive time slot. Finally, this was a time when shows were first experimenting with product placement and some of it was over the top like when Patty was in a writing contest and must have enunciated the phrase "Campbell's Tomato Soup" forty times or when Jack bought JJ "a brand new Ford Mustang!" which was of course a ridiculous car for a young man with a new wife a baby. I wish it would be available for streaming somewhere, but with all the song royalties, personality rights, and product placement it must be difficult.

IF YOU WANT SEASONS 2 & 3 TO BE RELEASED ON DVD ...... nbc and the producers are thinking about releasing them on dvd, but they need more people to buy season 1 to convince them (its only $20 now and you cna buy it from nbc online). also it would be very helpful if you wrote nbc a e-mail saying that you will buy the dvds if they are released for more info look up the american dreams fanclub online it tells you everything PLEASE HELP THE RELEASE OF THIS SHOW

Its like the tv show 60 Minutes on CBS, Our World on ABC or SNL on NBC. Ratings shouldn't have had anything thing to do with such a unique show. It wasn't practical, fair or plausible to compare it to whatever show it was up against on the other networks. This show would have had a unique and dependable audience if NBC just stuck with it.Oh well nobody said life was fair.
