I still think Amex Gold charge card has better value in terms of spendings, fuel and 5x rewards point. Also the bonvoy point conversion is applicable for Amex Gold too. Overall if you have HDFC Infinia + Amex Gold then you really don't need Amex Express Platinum card. It does not justify the high fees.

great and honest review. I have this card - because i travel delhi-mumbai route often and use their lounge. If some1 is not travelling often, i wont recommend this card. Most of the features are for over the top ppl. I am scared to renew this card for the second year - may go back to gold.

As a platinum member it’s been a year for me with this card and experience has been great so far. Usually I prefer staying in Marriott and Radisson which cater to my needs . And the level of pampering they do for their gold elite members is amazing 🙂. Unless one travels frequently or prefers staying in branded hotels this card is of no use. The USP for me apart from memberships is the 5 cr insurance cover on air accident and the overseas 50k usd medical cover . I never had to rush for things because Amex always took care of my needs. I frequently attend events too and they are really fun. All in all , I am able to make good use of the card.

I requested Amex customer care to downgrade back the card to Gold card which was done same day. But they have levied Rs.4500 joining fee on Gold card considering it as new card. I have requested to waive-it off or cancel the Gold card. Now, this is in process. Let’s see

This card doesn't beat Infinia in terms of rewards. The main benefits are in Hotel tiers, Amex customer service, concierge etc. Amex rewards are best used for Marriott Bonvoy. Also, amex accelerated rewards don't have any upper limit AFAIK so that beats Infinia since its capped at 15k points per stmt which is pretty low. Don't get this card due to FOMO or just for the exclusivity factor (Imo, it was easier getting this card than Infinia, lol).

I don’t need actual card to review a credit card. Most of my videos are without actual card. I wouldn’t have risked my 70k just to show a card in the videos. And if this video will help even one of my subscribers who are not into luxury lifestyle and were planning to apply for this card, it will save hard earned 70k of such subscribers. I will be happy by saving my subscribers money even if it means Amex wastes few hundred rupees on courier and card printing as Amex is world’s richest credit card company which spends billions of dollars every year for publicity and referrals of its products. Such small amount doesn’t matter for Amex at all. Also, it’s legitimate right given by RBI to close the card after receiving if you are not convinced with the benefits after receiving the card.

This credit card is for very high spenders. I should say, is good for people who spend upwards of 30L a month or so. This card is mainly focused on giving luxury benefits rather than reward points. The reward points you earn like a byproduct of your lifestyle. This card helps me to spend more than I can spend on my Infinia and all since most banks limit their credit at 50 to 60L. The Plat Charge in India is definitely a watered down version of the US one but still can be great for people who spend decent enough. If you feel that this card is not good, then just understand that you might not be the target audience for it.
