Yes... not only intense but also scary... you can see tracer bullets and parachute flares flying... it's like a war zone those times... and it's not an ordinary firecracker they used before it's like a dynamite stick geez... but I really missed it... 😁👍

@@TripTipsPodcast yeah we should embrace the new year with good luck and happiness, we open all the windows and doors so the spirit of good luck can come to our house, we throw coins all over our house because we believe that throwing coins will give you luck of money the whole year, we also put 12 different circle fruits on the table, we should also put something sweet delicacies because we believe that will help us to have a sweeter, tighter and joyful family. We also wear the color of the year. That's how we celebrate it.

Lynn the eldest can speak basic communication in English already even for a short of period of time theyve been here.

I agree with the "10 years ago" thing. I remember when I was younger, my family used to prepare 3 things, food, drinks and fireworks. No one gets to sleep because we loved our BBQ skewers and new year desserts, we still do. But most of us cousins were so excited in lighting up our own lusis fireworks bc those are safe options for kids. But the adults have their own Judas's Belt fireworks. Those years were more exciting and remarkable but dangerous.

It's a norm in 🇵🇭 . Almost every single household light up fireworks because of the belief to take away bad spirit or bad elements in the houses. Some chooses the safest mode by simply making a noise(any stuff in the house can be use a long as it makes some noise) or trumpet (torotot) for the kids.

firecrackers was popular before, and it will go on and on for more than 2hrs. Sadly a lot of firecracker-related incidents happened, videos of mutilated hands are all over the news after the celebration. Firecracker manufacturers outdo each other by releasing bigger kinds, also resulting in more victims with more severe damages. Nowadays, most of what you can see in the markets are fireworks, which is more expensive. But the good news is that less victims are also reported because of this shift.

Fun story my American husband stayed in the Philippines way back 2009 he experienced the Christmas, his finger was injured pretty bad. He was holding the fire craker told him not to but he never listen he was drunk though, and after that injuries he told me that filipino fire crakers are very strong like Manny Pacquiao 😂. Anyway I found their channel because of this video from the other reactor, and also find out they are staying in my home city which is Dumaguete. I planned to go back home and take my kids for good 🤞. I kinda tired of the weather here in Colorado 😊 . Plus Dumaguete city has a lot of foreigners live there.

I'm one of the few who hates it. Well maybe there are plenty of us too. The fireworks i like, but the firecrackers - a big NO. And sadly, last new year's eve was the worst here in our neighborhood. i heard the loudest explosions i've ever heard in my life. We have one called Judas Belt which is firecrackers strung together, exploding one by one. And we have another one called "Goodbye Philippines". And the ones i heard last new year's was a combination of those two. It was awful, especially for our pets. 😢

Same here. Even though they're beautiful to watch but I can't stand the smoke it brings. I don't go out when they start to light the firecrackers and the fireworks. I'm with our dog because he can't stand the noise. I feel sorry for him when Christmas and New Year Eve comes. It's true that it became less loud now compared before because of the firecrackers ban and its strict implementation. Before there were Giant Whistle Bomb, Super Lolo, Atomic Triangle, Large-size Judas Belt, Goodbye Philippines, Bin Laden, Hello Columbia, Mother Rockets, etc. They're very loud and dangerous. The ground is shaking when it explodes. The noisier the better. It is done because it's a tradition in the Philippines. Lighting firecrackers and fireworks carry over from the superstition that doing so would help ward off evil spirits and drive away bad luck.

Yess that's true few years back before the government impose the Firecracker's ban it was crazier during Christmas & New Year's eve. The hospitals were on red alert during these times because of many firecracker injury related incidents, some are even hit with stray bullets from an irresponsible individuals owning guns sometimes from a police. Now it's controlled but not 100% many are still selling and using firecrackers during this season. But the local government see to it that every city or town has its firecracker/fireworks zone.

There are plenty of bad roads in Metro Manila. Some have better roads like in BGC or Makati. I hide from fireworks 😂. We booked a hotel so we can sleep peacefully because it can get really loud during New Year’s eve.

It would be better to stay in Grammar residence on the top view in the best 👌! National Geography voted Philippines the best New Years fireworks in the WORLD! New York is overrated or Sydney. This is what's is like in the Philippines during World War 2.

@DANDJREACT just watched those other videos you'll see what's it's like 360 view very LOUD but beautiful 😍 fireworks! There are other videos shots in top of their building with BETTER VIEW angle 360 degrees please check other videos with 360 angle. It would be much much better if you stay in the top of the building with 360 views. Remember this is only happening ONCE a year every New Year but worth it!
