I agree with the "10 years ago" thing. I remember when I was younger, my family used to prepare 3 things, food, drinks and fireworks. No one gets to sleep because we loved our BBQ skewers and new year desserts, we still do. But most of us cousins were so excited in lighting up our own lusis fireworks bc those are safe options for kids. But the adults have their own Judas's Belt fireworks. Those years were more exciting and remarkable but dangerous.

firecrackers was popular before, and it will go on and on for more than 2hrs. Sadly a lot of firecracker-related incidents happened, videos of mutilated hands are all over the news after the celebration. Firecracker manufacturers outdo each other by releasing bigger kinds, also resulting in more victims with more severe damages. Nowadays, most of what you can see in the markets are fireworks, which is more expensive. But the good news is that less victims are also reported because of this shift.

I'm one of the few who hates it. Well maybe there are plenty of us too. The fireworks i like, but the firecrackers - a big NO. And sadly, last new year's eve was the worst here in our neighborhood. i heard the loudest explosions i've ever heard in my life. We have one called Judas Belt which is firecrackers strung together, exploding one by one. And we have another one called "Goodbye Philippines". And the ones i heard last new year's was a combination of those two. It was awful, especially for our pets. 😢
@mechocaacosta77437 ай бұрын
Same here. Even though they're beautiful to watch but I can't stand the smoke it brings. I don't go out when they start to light the firecrackers and the fireworks. I'm with our dog because he can't stand the noise. I feel sorry for him when Christmas and New Year Eve comes. It's true that it became less loud now compared before because of the firecrackers ban and its strict implementation. Before there were Giant Whistle Bomb, Super Lolo, Atomic Triangle, Large-size Judas Belt, Goodbye Philippines, Bin Laden, Hello Columbia, Mother Rockets, etc. They're very loud and dangerous. The ground is shaking when it explodes. The noisier the better. It is done because it's a tradition in the Philippines. Lighting firecrackers and fireworks carry over from the superstition that doing so would help ward off evil spirits and drive away bad luck.
