What is the special american technic, to make it a American Axe? I think the technic is older than the colonisation of the US

Of course the making of steel axes predates the founding of America by many, many centuries. However, with very few exceptions, axes much before colonial times did not have polls. This country established the poll as standard in most felling axes. The poll contributes greatly to the balance of the axe, allowing the making of heavy axes without all of that weight being forward of the handle. The balance fore and aft of the handle makes it much easier to control the axe in use. As you can see in the video, isolating the material for the poll requires planning from the very beginning, and is more difficult than forging, say, a simple wrapped tomahawk. But definitely worth the trouble.
