I really like the hinges. I also like the fact that both hinges are not identical. You switching to take care of your needs, will be a nice change because it will show us where your taste lies. We will get to see more ornamentation than you can do when making things for an unknown consumer.

❤ John you're very first video you ever published on KZbin was making hinges. And I had subscribed to you way back then when you had somebody else make that video for you. I've been with you ever since I have been with you when you made some other channels and I subscribe to those and those came and went but this one still go strong. As a fellow blacksmith I really appreciate the way you always educate and inspire

I love the direction you’re going in John. As a blacksmith it is rewarding to be able to decorate the shop with my own work, but the better pieces tend to go away with happy customers. It is always a pleasure to make something for myself.

These hinges are inspiring! The problem with making fancy, special hinges is that people make them too fancy and they then look bling, these hinges have just the right balance for a really special door, as they would have been made in the 17 th century for a Chateau. Very many thanks for posting this video! Chris B.

Really like that you don't mind doing the out of the ordinary. I've started saying you are courageous. I wanted to mention that I purchased one of the high frequency induction heaters probably because I saw your explanation of the benefits. However I live in California and I'm pretty sure that our legislators are not going to try to perform their job to get us lower costs on fuel so I'm expanding my choices. Thanks for all the information you put on these posts. Serb

This is the kind of stuff I like to see. Great looking hinges! Believe it or not I would love to make something like that for my hen house. Being older I don't have the flexibility to crawl inside to clean it out, so I designed one that one hole side opens up. Problem is, there are not any good hinges designed to hold the doors weight. Something similar to those would be just the ticket.

Thanks so much! I really enjoy your channels. To me, the hinge you built here is the ICING on buildings. I love happening upon an old shed that has detailed hinges/ latches like this. It gives me insight on the person who made them. There is beauty in simplicity, but the soul of the maker is in the details.

Always thought you haven't been given enough good words for adding the little messages for shoo and personal safety. John by now your advice could perhaps have saved California if only they had spread your safety teachings Hopefully you have taught someone who might carry the message of safety next. Do know I've listened to most of your advice and believe many Smiths has been involved with less pain and property loss. Agree we should design at least something just as we dream it should be done! If you can't please yourself then you are a nut 😅 Special Thanks.
