An American going back to Italy? Follow Marissa, as she takes a boat and travels back to her family's original small town in Southern Italy... Amalfi!
When Marissa first visited Italy, she was an American tourist who was visiting the country she knew her family once came from. She didn't know anything about her family's past. Years later, she decided to learn more about her Italian family that generations ago left Italy and immigrated to the United States.
In today's video we are in Amalfi, the beautiful cliff side town on the stunning Amalfi Coast. In 1890, when Marissa's great-grandfather was born, Amalfi was a simple fishing village. Today, the Amalfi Coast receives more than 5 million visitors a year and is one of the most sought after destinations in the world. While most people know Amalfi for the private boat rides, 5 star hotels, and lemon gelato, Marissa is here for other reasons: to see if she has roots in Amalfi.
Join Marissa as she tries to find clues about her great-grandfather's life in Amalfi - she will make some amazing discoveries along the way and give advice as to how you can do your own genealogical research! Watch to learn how!
