What made this such an important game for Celtic was it was played on the night of their 125th anniversary. Barcelona were all over Celtic that night but Celtic held firm and took their chances and won. Forster earned the name La Gran Muralla (The Great Wall) from the Spanish media for his performance that night. For the most important match of Celtic's history you'll be looking for their 2-1 victory over Inter Milan in the European Cup final in 1967, that time Celtic dominated Inter the same way Barcelona done in this match.

Your commentary suggests your a Barcelona fan and although it was great to watch such wonderful attacking football you have to remember that its a team game … made up of defenders as well as attackers… Celtic gave Barcelona a masterclass in defending that night ( i was there ) the noise through the whole 90 minutes was deafening best atmosphere ever. Messi etc said after the game that every footballer’s ambition should be to play at Celtic Park at least once in their lifetime …. The best atmosphere he’s ever experienced. … Hail Hail ☘️ ☘️

Forster is at Tottenham now mate, also I remember being at this game, and it was easily the best night of my footballing memory, ill never forget the feeling when Tony Watt put the ball into the back of the net, just pure euphoria, not many people can say they got to watch Messi score and still beat him

Best atmosphere I ever saw at Celtic park was the 4,_2 game the night 10 men won the league v rangers the day we won the league in our centenary year is another day that will live in my memory until my dying day but this night I sat in the house and cried like a baby with immense pride that my team had just beaten a club with probably 1 of the best teams the world will ever see

To put the winning goal into perspective for you . Tony Watt was aged 18 ,had very little Footballing experience (let alone Champions League experience) as a professional footballer and was up until the age of 16 unattached to any professional Club. He was effectively playing up his local Park as an amateur at the weekend. So he’s called off the bench 18 months after his professional contract is signed at Airdrie and asked to lead the line on Celtic Fc’s 125th Celebration against arguably the greatest Club side in Europe for decades if not ever in front of 60,000 fervent Supporters and slots his chance past one of the top Goalkeepers in World Football as if he’s playing up the Park against his friends in front of a man and his dog. If that wasn’t good enough he should have had a second one on one with Valdes had Mascherano not pulled him down as Watt was going to leave him for dead with pace.

What an incredible night. The Barca fans were awesome. I still have a Barca scarf that I exchanged with a Spanish lad after the game. I was also at the 2-0 EC quarter final against Real Madrid. Both legs. Sadly we lost 3-2 on aggregate, but what a journey.

I was doing my uni year abroad in Seattle (from Scotland). I watched this in a sports bar called Shultzy's at like 2pm before my econ final. Going absolutely wild. Was pissed as a fart and could barely walk to class after and sit my exam. Didn't care though! Great times.

i lived in calton (the area before the town centre) at the time watching it on the TV. I knew Celtic scored before it happened on the TV cause you could hear parkhead fucking bouncing and then so was my full block of flats 5 seconds later 🤣 what a night watching it gave me goosebumps and if I was there I know I would have cried it was all surreal honestly, Celtic is just that sort of club it's family 🇮🇪☘️
