In August 2024 I was in Russia after receiving my 3 year tourist visa. I flew from Reno, NV USA to Belgrade, Serbia (spent a week there), then flew to St. Petersburg (spent a week there), then took the high-speed Sapsan train to Moscow (spent a week there), then flew to Istanbul, Turkey (spent a week there), then back home to Reno. I arrived in St. Petersburg with Rubles that I exchanged US currency for in Belgrade (very good rates). Uploaded Yandex maps/taxi service (like Uber). You can order a taxi with cash (Rubles) extremely inexpensive. My phone (Mint Mobile) worked flawlessly for one exception. Near airports, train stations, and military areas my personal geographic location would bounce around until a got a few blocks away. I was prepared for this as I pre-downloaded off-line maps. I also pre-downloaded google translate, which worked pretty well. I felt very safe and secure day and night unlike most US cities. I had an Awesome trip and would definitely recommend seeing the countryside between the main cities using the Sapsan train. I had absolutely no trouble entering/exiting Russia. Enjoy your trip🙂 Noel

Hi Alexander, it's so interesting to listen to you, I am a russian born, living in Florida, working here after full college study. Absolutely admirable your education and journey, question pls, would you consider russian citizenship? And stay in Russia to build your life? I am considering moving back home to Moscow, after living and studying 25 years in Florida.

Thank you for sharing this video. I am a Canadian and moved to Russia in May 2022. I live with my wife and 2 sons in the Russian Far East in the city of Khabarovsk. Since I moved to Russia in 2022, I traveled back to Canada during the past 2 summers. I did not have any problems with leaving or entering Russia. My wife is Russian and our 2 sons have dual (Canadian/Russian) citizenship. I have my 3 year visa and am in my final stages of receiving my permanent residency status in Russia. I started a KZbin channel when I moved to Russia in 2022. I want to document life in Russia through the eyes of a Canadian. Yesterday, I uploaded my 400th video to my KZbin channel. My channel is called, "Canadian Living in Russia". Perhaps someday soon we can have a ZOOM chat and talk about our experiences of living in Russia from the foreign perspecive.

Can you describe a little more what they do to your phone? Like do they ask you to unlock it and then to unlock individual apps like say work app, signal, telegram, secure folder, etc? Try to use any airport except Sheremetyevo (SVO). Ukrainians can enter Russia only there so it is overwhelmed with people waiting for checking. And also stuff there is working on a bit different instructions. In other airports it is much easier.

They don’t check everyone’s mobile phone , it’s is a random thing I believe . I visited Russia in August this year and I went via the border with Estonia , they did not ask me a question, they saw my passport, my visa and let me in almost instantly. When i applied for a visa I gave as much information as I could and I believe that helped, I even told them that entering by Estonia.

If your mom is from Russia, then logically you should have the opportunity for simplified citizenship. I think there should be special programs. Here's an example. Who can apply for Russian citizenship in a simplified procedure Application for citizenship up to 6 months - If one of the parents lives in Russia and has Russian citizenship - The applicant received professional education after July 1, 2002 and has been officially working in Russia for at least 3 years - Officially works in Russia in a profession from a special list of specialists for at least one year - Permanently lives in Russia and is recognized as a native speaker of the Russian language

Man, if you applied for a residence permit, then why are you still traveling? As far as I know, it is common practice to sit at home and wait for any calls from important departments. I don’t really understand your freedom of movement, despite your feeling of freedom. Those Christians who move with large families to Russia receive the appropriate permits and visas. Until this moment, they are languishing in other states, for example in Georgia. Your reference to your grandfather is completely ridiculous. As an example, we see Ukraine. Together with Ukraine and other states, Russia defeated Germany. And as a result, the great-grandchildren of those winners swear allegiance to Bandera.
