That isn't how either side fought. Allow me to quote a German veteran: You see a group of unknown figures in the distance and gain their angry attention - if you are immediately brought under heavy machine-gun fire, they are German if you are immediately brought under heavy and accurate bolt-action rifle fire, they are British if there is a pause and then your position is annihilated with artillery or air attack, they are American This late in the war, the German defenders lacking MGs is understandable. What is not, however, are the American troops not even employing rifle-grenades, light mortars or bazookas to take out defensive positions. The US mantra, then as it is now, is Firepower over All.

They were not actual nations, and they all spent their time killing other tribes. You think Native Americans were peaceful? Lol, they were killing and stealing each other's land long before whites settled. The total population of Natives in America is completely dwarfed by the population of the SOVEREIGN NATIONS that Hitler INVADED. What borders did the Natives have? Who were their elected leaders? You use "Lebensraum" as some kind of legit excuse for Germany? So, Germany has some kind of right to conquer neighboring nations and exterminate their people to clear land for themselves? @captainnutsack81515 жыл бұрын
@@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO "if hitler would have kept the battle of britain going on brits would have lost." This is a lie. The Battle of Britain ended, because Germany failed to destroy Fighter Command. If Germany had kept fighting/attacking, they would have just had their losses mount endlessly. The Nazis underestimated fighter production and British morale. By the end of the BoB, England was replacing losses faster than they were receiving them. The reason Germany lost the BoB was because their bombing campaign over England was barely coordinated and there was no clear strategy for what targets to attack. They stood a chance of winning, had they concentrated their bombing campaigns on solely communications (radio towers, Radar) and airfields. Instead, Hitler and Goering opted for a messy, uncoordinated "bomb anything" (including civilians) strategy, in hopes of breaking British morale. This was a bad mistake. British morale never fell from these terror bombings, and Fighter Command was able to keep important radar stations and communications intact/fixed while the Luftwaffe bombed London. Even if the bombing campaign had been more focused, it's reasonable to say Britain probably still would have fought them off. Fighter Command was greatly underestimated by Hitler.

After The Bulge, which included the Malmedy Massacre, it was general practice for US forces inside Germany to withdraw from anywhere that offered resistance and flatten it with artillery. Resistance included women trying to pour boiling water onto soldiers from second floor windows, snipers, anything other than white flags everywhere. The officers didn't want to lose any more men, once the war was practically over. And SS were killed on sight. My father told me that. He was a Tech Sgt who did fire calculations for 751st Artillery Battalion, because he was the only one there who could operate a slide rule. The US prisoners killed at Malmedy included the weather detachment, who fed the 751st with wind speed and direction at different altitudes, taken from weather balloons. After that, they didn't get any more weather corrections. Most of the Wehrmacht regulars would cheerfully surrender once the SS man attached to their unit was shot. The Nazis did this to keep their units from surrendering. The POW camps had food, and the German army did not.

@@flmageren7771 Yes, but still. Some equipment was mostly provided (and it didn't really matter that much if you had G98 instead of K98 or M15 coat instead of M40 coat - you were still soldier equiped enough to make some damage, even when your equipment was scraping bottom of the barrel).
