Tea is more popular here while coffee is more popular in America even though we do drink both Americans definitely prefer coffee more I've noticed

Yorkshire Gold is definitely the best out of the ones you bought. I grew up in East Frisia (Germany) - the region where people drink about 300 litres of tea per year... a world record! Well, Yorkshire Tea Gold has got a very distinctive, mild taste if you add milk like you're supposed to. However, none of the regular tea in tea bags is of great quality - it's more like a product you can consume every day. More expensive tea tastes much better but costs A LOT more.

Pg tips is the best tea, the reason yorkshire is the nation's favourite now is because of patriotic biased Yorkshire people in England, they don't want to try anything only if it's made from Yorkshire then making out it's the best tea just because it's from Yorkshire.

Very important information: the flavour of tea has NOTHING to do with the colour of the tea liqueur, or the caffeine content, Flavour is completely isolated from any other aspect of the tea other than quality.

Co-op's Blend 99 is actually pretty darned good, too. Would bet good money that it's made by Typhoo in Liverpool, as they produce a lot of supermarket teas. Odd that Typhoo didn't make the cut. Some people swear by it.

In the UK you can also buy teabags depending on whether you have hard water or soft water.
@BritTucky3 жыл бұрын
That's really interesting. I don't think I have hard water, I never have to descale my kettle at home. The water at work is a lot different, very hard water.

I believe the Taylors of Harrogate breakfast tea is the one that is served at Betty's tea Room which has tea rooms in Harrogate, York, ilkley,snf Northallerton A pot of that for one person costs £3.45 ($4.89) so it's quite expensive to visit there and there's always a queue to get in at the York one, but people say it's worth it for the traditional afternoon English tea experience (which is not just a drink you get food as well)

PG Tips has always been my favourite cuppa. Can't get it here in Turkey, in fact I haven't seen any of those teas where I live in 13 years and expensive to import! The only decent English type tea was Yorkshire Ceylon but that disappeared 6-7 years ago!

My favorites are fortnum and masons royal blend, And whittards of Chelsea Earl Grey/Lady Grey. But always loose leaf tea, also different teas steep at different times anywhere between 1 and 6 minutes. But did grow up with pg tips 😊

I drink loose leaf teas from Octavia Tea here in the US. They have many different teas, and with every order they send sample packs with enough leaves for 1-2 cups, so you can try different teas.
@edmonddantes510426 күн бұрын
@BritTucky the Tetley brand makes some decent loose tea , more accessible in the states and less expensive. I have a box I put in the caddy . Ahmad is another one that makes loose tea also inexpensive . I recommend their Loose Broken leaf Assam , there Ceylon is good also but milder then Assam

If you're used to Tetley and PG Tips then you will obviously favour that kind of tea. They aren't bad and are drinkable, but I prefer Yorkshire Tea and Yorkshire Gold, which I find to be a little bit stronger and tastier, so it's odd you didn't find this. I do think I'd you are doing taste tests you should maybe have a bit of water between each cuppa before tasting the next one. One's you may have tasted straight after the strong or black ones will obviously taste bland as you've had your taste buds heightened. I might have to watch this back to see if I can work out the order you tasted them in as I suspect you probably had a stronger one immediately before the Yorkshire Gold. I also don't think it takes 3 minutes with the bag in the cup to make a cuppa. I'll do that with some herbal teas, but not these normal English tea blends. One last thing, and it's probably because you can't get it over there, but Twinnings make a good English Breakfast Tea (in a yellow box, if I remember right). The one you had I've never seen over here!!! Oh, and another last thing before I forget, but if/when you're over here is you're in Yorkshire please go to a Betty's Tea Room (though not the one in the square in York, the one that was known as Little Betty's on Stonegate, is such a cool place). The best ones are the ones in Ilkley or the original one in Harrogate. And when there you just have to have a Fat Rascal!!! Don't ask, they are a must have (maybe they ship to the US, although that would be expensive)!!! Great video though, living the output, keep up the good work and stay safe!!!

Thanks for the tea tips! Unfortunately I hadn't learned to like tea the last time I was in York, so I will add Betty's Tea Room to my list when I return!

No Yorkshire tea is just too bitter, I think what’s happened is people have become biased and obsessed with the brand and the name, and not the actual tea quality.
@mattpotter87252 жыл бұрын
@@theoilisburning7444 Rubbish. I don't just drink Yorkshire Tea because of the branding. It's not at all bitter!!! You're obviously used to just drinking rubbish tea like PG Tips or maybe the water where you are makes it bitter (or your tea pot)!!!
@theoilisburning74442 жыл бұрын
@@mattpotter8725 why would the water or teapot taste bitter, I don’t drink PG tips, I think this is a clear sign that you have bowed to the Yorkshire tea brand and name, even a generic decent quality black loose leaf tea blend is atleast 5 times better than any Yorkshire tea product.
