My son is in boot camp now with a contract to become a Medical Sergeant for the Green Berets. He’s a great young man and I’m very proud of him! I’m enjoying all the former Special Forces guys and gals that make these videos so that we civilians can learn more!

I retired in '99 after 20 years, but my service wasn't like these guy's service. Nothing but respect and gratitude for Mike, and John, and all of the guys out there who have served or are serving currently and who have a passion to share their knowledge with others. I know of Mike through my son who is now young infantry officer starting out in Airborne. Mike has been a great mentor to my son through his cadet years. Hold it against you? I was in the USMC and was in Sydney and Brisbane during WESTPAC 89. You Austrailians were nothing but good to us. However Greenpeace POS were there to greet us and tell us to go home. But they are a minority and probably not Australians for the most part anyway. I liked Australia and travelled to Katoomba.

I like the comment he made about survival is not about being a "Prepper". It's a mindset. This is exactly how I convinced my wife to get training. She always saw me practicing survival or being aware since we first moved in together and became a couple. Long before this Prepper term became tacticool. She got used to me picking out where we sit at a restaurant and sitting so we command the room and exits. Having emergency plans. Keeping kit in the car for emergencies with medical and recovery gear. I finally I convinced her that I am not about having an excuse to buy tons of gear we don't need but instead become more proficient with what we do have and the way we live through training and being mindful and aware. That if something happens to me it falls to her to protect the kids. That sealed the deal. I grew up in the deep country and in the city government ghettos. Both taught me that being prepared is something needed to survive. Do not become a statistic. Live life, don't let life happen to you.

An example of a true hero. I wish more young people looked up to people like him but unfortunately all we're exposed to is the Kardashian Hollywood trash type who I'm not saying are bad people but bring no value to anyone. While we almost never hear about the awesome stories these brave people have and who not only volunteered to fight for our country but continue being an inspiration long after.

I didn't grow up idolizing celebrities but people like Mike Glover in multiple fields of life though I will say anyone who ever asked me who my fav superhero was and my answer was Bruce Lee. Your a badass Mike... I wanted to be in the military, then join the special forces. It was my dream, it was in my soul to fight for my country... They wouldn't take me because of medical reasons... So I tried calling around and trying to get every waiver I could... Nothing helped me. It hurts to this day.. I'm 32 now and never had the privilege to serve. I need up having to have 2 spinal fusion surgeries that they almost killed me twice, they literally said they don't know how they are here even to be able to watch me breath much less talk to them.. I remember saying, well I'm a fighter. Always have always will be.. but they also need up messing me up really bad
