This is such a good scene. They both played extraordinarily well, you could see the despair in Violet’s eyes, the hopelessness and compassion in Tate’s - something you didn’t expect to find so deeply felt in a character like him, who clearly suffer from some form of antisocial personality disorder. There is such a big difference between Tate with Violet and Tate in the past (and some moments in the narrative present too), I can’t believe it’s the same person. I actually really love Tate, because no matter how often I remind myself of those awful moments, the moments like this scene are way more powerful in my mind.

To be fair, I don't remember AHS Murder House very well, but I do know that I interpreted this 'relationship' between Violet and Tate to be imagery for abusive relationships, manipulation, intimate partner violence and sexual violence. How do we romanticize this sort of behavior? He's a fucking manipulator taking advantage of Violet from beginning to end. And I hate that this sort of manipulation and violence is happening in real life, and people will find ways to legitimize it or play it down or yes, even romanticize is. This needs to stop. It shows that those people are more likely to be a victim of a serial killer.

+greenlee7smythe The problem here is that plenty of girls romanticize the real Columbine killers that Tate was inspired by. Even if he is fictional, the fact that they overlook or even glamorizing his actions is reminiscent of fandoms created around real life killers.

Not true, season 2 was good as well. Season 3 was ass regardless of the aesthetics and cast which are what people actually like.

Best season in all of AHS. Violet and Tate are my two favorite characters despite the killings he had done. Violet is so relatable to me.

ok but the fact that Tate hauled her lifeless body up into that space and all the way in the back is honestly amazing

What makes Tate a conflicting is Evan Peters performance, hands down. Just when you starting seeing Tate as evil, there is this duality, this vulnerability. I genuinely believe Tate loves Violet, and I feel his tears at seeing Violet in any kind of pain comes from this connection he feels. I don't know if I believe she changed him, but her companionship gave him what he lacked when he was alive, a connection. The house fed on his darker thoughts, insecurities, loneliness, and I believe depression; it brought out his worst potential until Violet came, and he didn't need to succumb to his darkside, He had someone to love...cheesy as it sounds...and Peters ability to work a wonderful screen presence with Taissa shows.

The fact that he tried so hard to get her to choose it, is incredible.

I remember watching this episode at 2am when it came out. Literally yelled, "WHAT. THE. FUCK!" while the parents were sleeping. I was more pissed off and mind fucked than grossed out.

Honestly murder house was messy and wild but it’s probably one of the best AHS seasons. Really solid start and the character actors really solidified their acting skills in this season. Especially Taissa !!

I found this scene to be one of the most intense and emotional in all of the seasons more so than any murder scene or any of the gore/slasher sequences aside from when Kai kills his sister in “Cult” Because that, as well as this scene was pretty gut wrenching .... Also I think the actors played this brilliantly
@khaotictrash2 жыл бұрын
“Please Tate, I don’t wanna die.” “It’s too late for that…” Jesus fucking Christ. That line evoked so much fear in me when I first watched it, and after the reveal it has an entirely different meaning. I love this show so much. Edit: I’d also like to add that this is one of my favorite scenes with Tate being his genuinely sweet and caring self. This is one of those moments where the house doesn’t have its insidious control over him and it’s actually him talking to her and helping her, and I love it. It’s a great parallel to their reconciliation scene in Apocalypse.
@blueturtle36233 жыл бұрын
No idea why, but "It's too late for that" is the scariest thing out of Tate's mouth. Not the scariest thing he's done, after the opening of the 6th episode, but the scariest thing he's said.
