I am really disappointed that Fantasia did not have a SOLO at the tribute. They keep pairing her with other artist. This was not right , she was the only female artist that did not sing a song alone. I believe the audience was anticipating her singing a Aretha classic alone. Doctor Feel Good would have been great for her. Fantasia just comes on stage and RIPS IT UP AND TEARS THE HOUSE DOWN !!!

Joyce Cunningham That’s an unfair comparison. That’s not to say Fantasia hasn’t had a successful career and I hate that she’s overlooked when people mention successful American Idol winners. However, Jennifer won an Oscar, has done films, Broadway and live musicals, and is coaching on The Voice; Kelly is on her way to being a pop legend; and Carrie Underwood is Carrie freaking Underwood. The ONLY reason Aretha chose Jennifer instead..is because Fantasia wouldn't sound believable as far as TALKING goes..the little girl voice just won't work..Aretha talked ..tho bashful in the early years..talked just the same..Jennifer TALKS well too..so in order to nail the "at home average family parts" a regular mature sounding speaking voice is needed.

Aretha Franklin may have gotten on her, but she still didn't listen. A chest tattoo, abortion, lawsuit for home-wrecking, and suicide attempt later she finally woke up. But, then she rushed to marry another (less financially secure) man all because he prayed for her one time. With her inability to make good decisions, she should have been trying to take her time with anybody new. But, when you can't control your flesh and lust, I guess it's better to wed than burn.
