She's very brave to took Mariah song in her audition."Vision of Love" is a really hard-to-sing song ever,but,she did a good job.

I find it funny how people say Tamyra wasn't original. Originality is something that they try and stamp out of you in the music business. i.e. Kelly Clarkson going from blue-eyed soul to the more profitable rocker chick genre.

in all actuality the only reason kelly clarkson made it was because she was on a major label that put up the money to promote her like crazy and pay for the best song writers they could get , and if tamyra won she im sure would have had the same amount of success accept she wouldn't have changed her entire image for her label, but im not at all hating on kelly because in that season she was my second choice for sure and i still somewhat like her but she is just kinda fading away career wise

Interesting, but why do you think Tamyra should have won? Kelly does not raise the torch high enough as the original American Idol? Where are your standards? Tamyra obviously had a career that fizzled out before it even really started. As we have seen just because you win the title of "Idol" winner, it does NOT INSURE success. Thank God Kelly won the first season. She's the ultimate example!

the business people always try to tell them what to do but they should know whtat they want and whaty they want to sing thats why wen singers go all trashy lookin and slutty its ccuz there managers told them thats wha the fans want

Kelly's success DID NOT derive from her "win". She worked hard and she's better than everyone else... period! Tamyra would have drowned the original title of Idol into the ground. There's no commercial audience for someone so UNoriginal!

I've met Tamyra many times and since my cousin is her BIGGEST fan, my family has followed her career since idol. I've never claimed Kelly can do no wrong. She's made an ass out of herself MANY times. I just think she is vocally on a different (higher) level than Tamyra. Tamyra as idol? no. Tamyra is gifted, she's just not as memorable.
