I have a video suggestion/request: I would love to see a video on scout carry knives. I'm looking for a small-medium scout carry EDC, and there's no way to filter search results for scout carry. I know I can just make a sheath if I need; but it'd be great to see what options are already out there.

Have you ever checked out Bradford knives? I have a Guardian 3 and it’s pretty awesome to scout carry!

Check out the Bark River Adventurer II or any of the Adventurer series. The GiantMouse GMF1 too, Spyderco Mule Team they have one on their site now and the SPY27 is coming soon, Bradford Guardian series, Spyderco Junction. Some of those you might have to modify or order a sheath but all are great knives that I own. Don't really carry any of them often but I still really like them lol. All are probably in that size range you are looking for all would be great carry knives if you wanted to carry a fixed blade.
@santiagoguier94904 жыл бұрын
trageopar I bought the Bradford Guardian 3 because of the scout carry option and the high quality materials and build. I bought the 3 with the G10 but I highly recommend the 3.5 in micarta because its just a neutral handle thats the most ergonomic type of handle so if you are a woods man or you really use your stuff I thins that’s a SOLID option

At about 17:20 you spoke about the Tops knife being a tad bit too short. About 15 years ago I wrote to Bob Dozier and asked him to make me an Electricians knife. I wanted it short but with a handle long enough to grip like you're saying. He asked me if I was left handed or right. Before finalizing the custom D-2 knife he told me he didn't have any Root Beer handles for it. The only thing he had available at the time was Ironwood and that it wouldn't change the pricing on it. It turned out so sweet that he put it out on his regular lineup. Short but long true story. Its the best knife I've owned since then and I'm currently over 120 knives. That Gerber & the Winkler are probably my next purchases. Thanks again for a great video. Its not a hobby. Its a blade addiction. I'm off to another 12 step meeting!!! Regards.

Couple of notes on Bark River: 1) All Bark Rivers are convex ground. 2) Mike Stewart will tell you not to use any oils, leather softener creams, or water to help fit the knife to the sheath. Just man up & push it in there & leave it. The leather will eventually form to the knife without losing its ability to tightly hold the knife in the sheath. Using oils, creams, or water will stretch the leather which will weaken how tightly the sheath holds the knife.

I got a hell of a deal on a new Bark River last night. I bought the Adventurer II with bone burlap and red liners that Apostle P had in his weekly knife sale at $145. That is what $100 -120 or so off what they cost. Seem to be getting a lot of Elmax lately. This Bark River, the GiantMouse Ace Grand, and the Urban EDC exclusive F5.5 are 3 of the most recent knives I have bought. I want one of Apostle P's Bark River Gunny Sidekicks. Going to have to buy one before they sell out. I have tons of folders probably a couple hundred but only 10 or so fixed blades, all from Benchmade, Bark River, Spyderco, and Hogue.

Tops Brakimo is my new favorite knife ...I was a bit reluctant cause the handle is thin BUT after getting it and using the knife I'm loving it. If you have been looking for a wicked scani-vex knife that isn't going to chip or roll plus be a true survival knife its perfect. As for the MSK I had to totally reprofile mine it came with the worst V grind . I think it was a 25° which butters toast but wouldn't cut wood at all, BUT after I fixed that into a scandivex its now a good little blade . I got mine for $47 new so it was a good deal but IMHO the knife ain't worth the going price of $60-$69 ..If ya want a good neck knife thats just a hair bigger get the Enzo/Brisa Bobtail .

That first knife you presented "Benchmade" looks like a Mora, (Morakniv), though that blade profile is badass no doubt. Now that ESSE, looks like a beast, and I like the fact its wide and not too long for horizontal carry. That Winkler looks Prehistoric with a modern approach no doubt, and as far as sheaths go, just stick with the Kydex, and save the leathers for footwear. Hackability is a term ..and we heard it now on KZbin, and remember, KZbin is a publishing house in its own way. That Gerber Strong Arm is an awesome deal, I mean, Gerber has that Mil Spec backing, and the sheath alone makes it an all around kickass EDC (NEED BE), thats 4 sure. Neck knives, I'm not really feeling that, I wore my Dog Tags while serving 30 years ago, but I get the options; we love our options. A pen knife would be cool, I hope CROSS( pens), Hasbro (makers of Transformers), and KA-BAR is watching this. Great presentation guys, and we love our BLADES.
