So, the cannon is a special effect that uses a salute to create a vortex that shoots out at supersonic speed. It basically shoots a "smoke ring" out at mach-speed, lol. That's what you're hearing. Super cool.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa ... Those buckets are not concrete filled right? They should be filled with loose material like sand /dirt right? Saw on news, a guy had a filled mortar tube bucket with concrete. Lift charge failed blew up in tube concrete shrapnel flew every where hitting cars and houses and killed people. Sorry safety conscious guy here.
