Blood in Blood out is like the great value version of what went down with the mexican Mafia. This movie is too accurate to the point people paid for it with there lives. Danny Trejo was suppose to be in this but chose not too and was actually contacted by the mexican mafia later about it.
@40ozDrinka..7 ай бұрын
Lmao no. The whole reason people got hit and lost their lives was because of the inaccuracy of some of the scenes in the film..
@azul_6.5262 жыл бұрын
The Mexican mafia also allows people with non Mexican origin as long as they grew up in the the Mexican/American culture. The white guy in this movie is actually based on a real white guy named Joe Morgan who was white but grew up with Mexicans/Americans. There's a documentary about him, I recommend you watch.

This is a heavy movie. I first saw it when it came to video in 1993 or so and my sister and brother in law rented it. I was 11 years old and I've never forgotten it. You walk away feeling sadness and I can't understand how one would still lead a life of crime after seeing this film.
@downer714oc Жыл бұрын
Although the 3 guys in the beginning are real and so is the Mexican Mafia, this movie was not telling the truth. It was all Hollywood and a lot of people involved in it died because of it. Santana's character is really Rodolfo "Cheyenne" Cadena who is gone, JD's is Joe "Cocoliso" Morgan also went by Pegleg but that was a media thing so no one dared call him that outside his circle but he's also gone, Mundo is Reymond "Mundo" Medonza who is still alive and is in protective custody. Mundo makes videos here on KZbin for the channel PFP Publishing and talks about what really happened and a lot of individuals who were or are still members of the Mexican Mafia. But yeah this movie was not true and people paid big time for the making of it.

Little puppet didn’t call the cops on Santana it was because Santana was holding little puppet’s jacket when he was all drunk and the cops found the drugs that were in little puppet’s jacket so they arrested Santana for it and he was already on parole so that made look even worse.

Dude. Look up ‘Zoot Suit Riot’. 1943. Los Angeles. Surprised you never heard of it. Mostly tension between the thousands of military moving through LA and the zoot suiters they thought were shirking serving in uniform. Wasn’t necessarily just anti-Mexican stuff. But the zoot suits WERE Mexicans. Just look it up.

Maybe the office or ozark! Movie wise! Click, brave heart, Superbad, end of watch, Alpha dog, not sure if you ever watched dragon ball z either but probably did lol. These are some I would personally watch.

James Olmos has 2 more Chicano/gang movies Zoot suit- which is a movie of a play by that name. It a play of what happened the night of the zoot suit riots (the riot at the start of the movie between santanas parents and the marines) The other movie is Mi Familia- is a multi generational movie of the Mexican American experience in Los Angeles from the early 1900’s to the mid to late 80’s Both great James Olmos movies

Going to summarize a bit of a history background behind the flashback scene in the beginning which is based on the Zoot Suit riots in Los Angeles which is an event between navy sailors and the Pachucos or Zoot Suiters. Those sailors came from other parts of the country and were not accustomed to the Chicano culture out in Los Angeles and were outraged because they felt these pachucos should be serving the country by joining the military but instead were dressed in baggy suits hanging around the downtown area. Long story short it was a lot of back and forth battles between the two groups and the pachucos ended up being prosecuted for the riots. Learned this from my Chicano Studies class. It’s just a quick summarization of the event though, there are a few details I probably missed lol.
@MozyReacts2 жыл бұрын
i still appreactie the summary! cause i never heard about these riots. Like when i watch american history x and they talked about the rodney king riots i know what they were talking about so again thanks for the summary fam 🤙

The baggy clothes were also seen as a sign of disrespect for the war cause due to rations that included fabric. The Sleepy Lagoon Murder Trial just added to the fire because, contrary to political correctness, many zoot suit types were gang members including my grandfather. In fact, he’s on a cover of a book about the Sleepy Lagoon Murder Trial and was given the choice between prison or military service. He wisely chose the latter.

This movie was an embarrassment. Danny Trejo even tried to warn them about this because of the lies and bs they put in there. The real Mexican Mafia killed people because of how they lied about the group even Edward James had a hit put on him Danny Trejo knew the real life leader and used that to save Edwards life but the others were killed. This is not anywhere a realistic or considered a great movie by anyone that is from that culturw or life. Only outaiders think its great , to 99% this movie was just garbage made by what outsiders think its like. You should look up Danny Trejos interview about it he warned them mutiple time hey you cant do this, it is goona get you all killed. They didnt listen and yes they got executed for it.
