One of my bandmates from the 77th Army Band at Fort Sill went to the Army Field band and did a long career there. Allen Potter may not ring a bell to anyone there now, but he was the finest trombone player I ever had the pleasure of working with. I was a horn player at Ft. Sill from February 1975 til June 1977.

Al Potter was an amazing colleague and a fine gentleman. I was blessed to serve with him for many years in the Field Band, and am blessed to call him friend!

@@mlbg10158 Allan's talent was way beyond being fully utilized at Fort Sill. He certainly deserved to be in a higher caliber organization. We were sad to see him go, he did make the right move. I haven't had any contact with him since he left Fort Sill, but he certainly did leave q lasting impression on me. Glad you had him as your colleague and friend.

Fantastic performance! Dr. Joseph Wilcox Jenkins, the composer, was a beloved professor at my undergrad alma mater; the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. From this master i learned music history, analysis, orchestration and composition. I was there from 1982-86.

I love this song. We played it at our last school concert and the people that went to New York played it too. This song. Never gets old

As a bass trombonist all I can say is… that brass section especially the horns… my god they are incredible at what they do! Beautifully done Army! 🇸🇪🤝 🇺🇸
