This song always gets me. My mom was into drugs when she was younger and then was clean for a solid 15 years until she got cancer. And we told the hospital and the doctors that she suffered with substance abuse so not to give her hard drugs. Afterwards they prescribed her Valium (Diazepam). She beat cancer only to succumb to a constant cycle of recovery and relapse with drugs Fuck cancer. And fuck that drug.

Totally relate - my Dad’s Valium addiction was worse than the ‘breakdown’. Mum had to push him to save him - incremental forced him to live again.

Great way to start back Rensday. my top top Ren. That sweet 🎸solo ❤️‍🔥 I find the sound alone kinda feels as if on Valium (diazepam) Been sporadically on/off many yrs for Chronic Pain & bouts of insomnia. I have to say for me it's one of the few Rx out of the plethora i have tried I like the most. It actually makes some of the pains less. also numbs the mind a bit so not constantly thinking of that pain. relaxed enough to actually sleep.. But long term everyday use can be horribly addictive and too numbing. So for me "Self Destructive Healing is One & the Same" hits close. A bit of damn if do/don't catch-22 kinda thing

I have missed my weekly fix of Ren and what better way to bring back Rensday than with "Diazepam". Love how Ren captures the essence of this drug perfectly, and his lyrics "Self-destructive healing it's one and the same" is so relatable to my current situation. Still love the freeform Wednesday lives though Joe E, but this is a nice treat.

so im prescribed klonopin and while similar, valuim is considered the be the most eurphoric of all the benzo's(fuck fasct that most people that try to take benzos dont actually feel euphoria and just relaxization. i get euphoria from them but i take them because i need them.....most people that want benzos from doctors that they have no idea what all comes with it and the things that are connected to them. majority of psychs in america unless you u have super high end rich people insurance doctors or psychs refuse to give them to people and some states make it extremely hard to get prescibed them.....i live in vegas with my aunt....a couple years back my dad moved from cali to texas....he was planning to ask me to move in with him and he was willing to take care of me like the person i live with now(my aunt who raised me mostly while my dad was there without really being there outside of money) there is 0% chance in the world i could move to texas without ending up in a year plus rehab center because they make it so hard to prescribe narcotics....my dad has several slipped disks and the state dirst denied the preciption to him and he had to call his doctor and talk to somoen higher up the chain to allow them to give anything more then a few week to a month of like 3 times a day 5 mg vicodin.......they are more strict with benzos. 1 day of benzo wd is worse then a full physical wd cycle from fent addiction. benzos wd has a legit realistic shot or either having seizures and brain damage or death. in my early 20's i had a close friend whos gma sold her valuim to help pay rent....for w.e possible reason but i am immune to valuim...it does nothing even at 4 times the normal dose and yes they were real.

Loved your AC/DC reaction with BP earlier. They’re all over 60 on that. Try - it’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll. 50 years ago with Bon Scott. Don’t recommend diazepan - Da got addicted to it. I knicked some of his as a teen - just removes you from feeling - floating chalk outline.

Had an ER trip a couple weeks ago. The Dr. was kind and gave me a tad, along with some pain meds. OFC I played this a few times while awaiting test results. I used to be HOOKED. Bad. Like, down bad. Way down. Decades ago. Anyway, I floated for awhile, calmed, got my results (I'm fine), floated on home. ❤

If you break down the lyrics it's very much not a pro Valium message but rather it illustrates how what seems like a ride of relief at first then turns into the same trap it was used to escape from. I'm being captain obvious here but if one only watches once or twice they may miss this narrative.
