There's an explanation video of this song on DKDKTV channel where they explain the language expressions and your mind goes 🤯 because honestly, I've never seen such a great use of metaphors and onomatopoeia to respectfully respond to haters like these three men do. It's totally worth checking out, even those (including me) who don't like that channel, acknowledge how well explained and put together that video is.

I love RM's choice to add a stutter to his verse to tease the people he's taking shots at but the cherry on top is the cheeky little smile he does right after that and him fanning himself. There's an air of "I will drag you but keep it cute and playful because it's not actually that serious anymore". The overally approach to ddaeng shows such growth from cypher because you can hear that they've healed much more from that hurt. It's not coming from a place of fury, hurt and defiance. Now it feels less like they trying to roar louder than a tiger and now they're booping the tiger on it's cute lil nose with a balloon, not afraid of it anymore but almost playing with it.

The beat Suga made for this is so good. This was around the time they took a ton of flack for being too westernized because they were winning western awards. The use of traditional Korean music to rap on is an extra flex plus using the single word Ddaeng in so many creative ways without being vulgar. 💜💜💜

I’d love for you to watch! BTS Ddaeng explained by a Korean by dkdktv. There is so much deeper meaning, play on words, as well phrases that most wouldn’t be aware of full meaning & intent. The lyrics are just so much more. Also this was the first, but not last time Suga incorporated traditional Korean instruments as well. This song is so special & so meaningful in so many ways.👍🙏❤️‍🔥

But honestly all 3 are equally amazing in their own outstandingly on another level way, 8n their own special unique way. What a combination, all in one group. Breaking down their lyrics, especially in a song like this as well as UGH, (also has explained by korean vid as well which I don’t recall you watching yet, if not that’s another must!) having a better understanding & full grasp on the depths of meaning of their genius lyrics, makes one appreciate BTS as a whole as well as individually that much more.
