Hey King Boomer... loving all the reactions! As you're about to complete the 'Cornetto Trilogy', has anyone suggested you try 'Spaced' which is another classic Channel 4 comedy? It's pretty much the same talent behind the Cornettos... Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright and also features Mark Heap (the weird neighbour from Friday Night Dinners) which nicely ties your reviews together!!

I would definitely choose Mark as a friend over Jeremy. They're both messed up in the head, but at least Mark's neuroses only seem to affect him. Jeremy's problems seem to have a lot of collateral damage involving those around him.

Mark without a doubt 😂 Mark is the part of the show where everyone can relate to, He is everything right about British culture- Jeremy is everything wrong with UK culture bottled into a human. Together they complete eachother. They are both everything that the other is not.
@nicheman3612
@nicheman3612 9 ай бұрын
"Mark is everything right about British culture" Jeez, that's bleak - and surely a complete misreading of the show especially in the later seasons. I used to feel that way about Mark when I was an awkward teenage virgin (and history buff lol). He does have a pathetic charm to him but even in the early seasons having a cowardly, emotionally stifled, petty individual who's terrified of getting out of their comfort zone and stuck in a boring, worthless job is a depressing encapsulation of "everything right" about a culture. Anyway, I guess that's why I spend most of the time away from the UK and why I'm so glad I've moved away from being more of a mark.

@@nicheman3612 yeah okay everything right with the English culture is the wrong way to put it. Moreso he is you quintessential average British man. And that In itself if the most British thing about the show, his personality and his remarks are just revolved around how awkward and British his character is. But in a sense, he is the 'good' character in the show, the one with morals.

To answer your question who I'd rather have as a friend Mark or Jeremy both do have some redeeming qualities. Mark would be great for business, tax and financial advice were as Jeremy would be handy for party purposes, but then again Super Hans is far superior in that area and Alan Johnson would be better then Mark for any sort of financial advice. Hans & Johnson are much more fun and cool plus Johnson won't act like a Twat like Mark and the same goes for Hans being a better person than Jeremy. Which surprisingly is true! This show should really be about Hans & Johnson TBH. Hans BTW is based off a character called 'Danny The Drug Dealer' from the great 'Withnail & I' movie, one of Britain's greatest movies ever made staring Hugh Grant & Paul McGann. You should definitely do a reaction to that movie king 👍

Sorry if this is getting too serious. But this episode (I'm sure there are others) really does highlight the fact that men and women can never be 'just friends'. Without writing some kind of dissertation. This is just human nature. I hope for your sake Boomer and your Queen (as well as any others reading in even 'semi' serious relationships) that neither of you has any isolated friendships with anyone of the opposite sex. Bad news. Despite the obvious fact of anomalies (which no doubt some people might bring up), exceptions never prove the rule.
