The pool table being in the school is only because they are in "Six Form", they are the oldest in the school and as you are not required to come back to school after Year 11, the Six Form common room (the room they are in) is usually a bit more of a chilled out area. Other kids in YR7-11 won't have access to this room. It's more to treat them more like adults now they have technically 'left school'.

4:34 In British schools the top two years (17 and 18 year olds) get what's called a 'common room', which is like a staff room for students. There's usually a shitload of posters on the wall, a kettle or coffee machine for beverages, a microwave for whatever crap you've brought in, a card table for the hustlers, and if there isn't a pool table then something has gone horribly wrong and somebody will quickly steal one from somewhere. A common room _must_ always have a pool table! The reason is because the final two years at school are not 9-4 like the previous years were, the 17 and 18 year olds that have chosen to stay in school (you can legally leave school at 16 over here) have chosen subjects that they want to get higher grades in but they only have like 3 classes in a day - this means an average day might consist of 9-10 Art, 10-11 free, 11-12 lunch, 12-1 French, 1-2 free, 2-3 Art again. And so during the free time you could go home, go somewhere else, or sit in the common room playing poker for cash while talking shit about teachers.

In the U.K. school is only compulsory to years 11 which is aged 16. Most schools have a year 12 and 13 (sometimes called 6th form) which is where lots of students stay on to do their A Levels. You are generally treated a lot more like young adults during these two years and it is not uncommon for year 12’s +13’s to have their own Common Room with pool table etc.

The Inbetweeners is such a classic, a true depiction of boys growing up in the UK as we all had a group of friends exactly like this, great days 😁 Wonderful superbly written series, LOVE it 👍😁🇺🇸🇬🇧

The boys are in "sixth form" its a stage between attending legally required school and going to college/uni. in some situations like in this show the two are in the same "school grounds" but the sixth form students are usually given more adult things and freedom. normally a uniform isnt usually required. hence in episode 2 when the skip class the head says there isnt nothing he can do. except where Simon faked his mums phone call lol.

Love these reactions! If you didn't know already, there's also two Inbetweeners movies which you must see!!! The Inbetweeners is a gem. The type of show you can watch multiple times and still find it funny. A couple of other gems that I'd recommend would be: Only Fools & Horses Gavin & Stacey

Funny story... I got to the semi-finals of a 1985 Pontins talent show and it was hosted at Camber Sands! I spent all night watching "Stir Crazy" for the 1000th time in the room. The night of the talent show, I got up on the piano and did my thing. The girl (about 14 yrs old) who sang Madonna's Lucky Star ran off the stage crying as her tape got chewed up! I knew I coulda nailed her that night. Ahhh the things you regret NOT doing lol

A little tip for you. The light that indicates low fuel on the dash will have a little arrow on one side. That little arrow indicates which side the fuel cap is on. Great reaction, peace.

The slow dance song at 21:25 was Careless Whisper for the original airing. It seems to have been replaced by a generic sax track.

I had a yellow car when this show was popular. Kids used to shout ‘Bus Wanker’ at me all the time. 😂😂

Fun fact - in a car on the speedometer there's always a petrol pump symbol with an arrow showing which side to fill up on.

I understand why you needed to edit the girls and their ages, etc, but man the ending with the "wet spots" in the car is a classic.

We had a pool table in 6th form (which is when Inbetweeners is set 16-18 year woods basically) and we all used to put cups in the pockets to catch the balls so we didn’t have to pay! We also worked out in the end how to put the cue up through the table to flick the catch to let the balls out! I was in 6th form 95-97 so defo used to happen!

Yes, pool tables can be found in the sixth form common room. Both the cues and balls, when placed in a football/rugby sock can provide handy improvised weapons if needed.
