Boomers, this might just be your best reaction yet! I absolutely loved watching the pair of you completely lose it over this episode - especially at Simon's facial expressions while he was being w*nked off at the party. The pair of you had me in tears here. I'm loving rediscovering this show with you. I watched all seasons here in the UK when it was first aired and enjoyed it immensely, but watching it again through your eyes, I honestly don’t know how they got away with some of it. It's literally some of the best TV ever and it’s so outrageous. I remember the shop-floor banter when I started my first job, and it's so accurate here. One of the guys was very lazy, and the manager said he needed some "elbow grease", which is slang for working hard. He sent him off down the street to the hardware store to get some. What surprised us all the most was that he came back with a price for it! This show is absolute dynamite. I’m British, and probably biased, but we have some of the best shows. Think of a line, and we’ll go right over it by a country mile. Watching you both experience this is literally the highlight of my day. Can't wait for the next one, you Muppets!

Work Experience is a routine part of every child’s schooling in the UK. You usually do it in your last year of school, before sixth form. Most people end up doing nothing the whole day as no one trust kids to run their business. Most people find it pointless but some people get genuine opportunities for their future.

Regarding the short tie : In our secondary schools when we were made to wear ties we would all make them as short as we could as it was the "cool thing to do" Don't ask me why we all just did it perhaps to rebel against looking our formal best? both guys and girls did it and the "nerds/brown nosers" (Like Will here) would always have their tie done properly, at the very least they were judged for having their ties done correctly haha

The thing with the tie is one of those details that really brings back memories of how crazy some of the unofficial school rules where, for us in the 90's we had the thin end at the front and the thick end tucked into the shirt. Also, you had to carry your backpack with one strap, being a "two strapper" was grounds for merciless bullying. I have friends now in their 40's that where so well conditioned to do this that they still carry backpacks with a single strap!

I think most people in England do work experience when they're about 14 years old. I went to my old primary school. I wanted a sleep in and it's just 5 minutes from me. I had to be there at 8.45 (in comparison to my school, which was 7.45) and got a full hour for lunch and left at 3.15. That's the only reason I went for it. It was bliss

We do work experience in the UK, not sure if they still do it as it's been a long time. But when I was at school we did work experience in our 3rd or 4th year. It wasn't exclusive to sixth form.

Thanks guys, watching Father Ted today with you made me remember just how brilliant it was, loving the Inbetweeners reactions too. I highly recommend Friday Night Dinner (with Will from inbetweeners), I'd watch the full episode. Best of luck Boomers

Yay! Btw, just a heads up; when the time comes to watch the two films (after the series) you should watch via streaming (Amazon or others) as KZbin is not the place to find proper copies.

I always had a proper length tie, with the perfect knot, but my top button was also always undone and the tie was loose rather than being pushed right up. It was a constant struggle, whenever the teacher noticed, they’d have me adjust it.

It’s a little surprising that will pronounces garage with a short “a” as this is a much more northern working class pronunciation than the long a

As a brit born in 1990, this show is a perfect rendition of British school life for the time period. in many cases its not even exaggerated, even the attitude of the adults and teachers are accurate.

Been waiting for you to react to this, been checking twice a day! One of the greatest comedy programmes England has ever produced! Shame it only lasted as long as it did, you have to check out the films the first one is definitely better than the second. I know you only like reacting to 10 or 15 minute clips and these are obviously longer and with good reason but you need to do the films too once you have watched all of the series.
