Damn! I thought there had been a thing about him (the actor) wanting to quit the ads, but not being able to, but now I realise I was misremembering the ads where they try to do them without him and he keeps gatecrashing and bursting into song! For a few minutes I genuinely believed I'd read something about him trying to quit because of the amount of abuse he got from viewers about the ads being annoying! 😖 Apparently he rarely gets recognised without the moustache, though (outside Wales - he's Welsh and was already quite successful there before the ads), so hopefully he doesn't get too much abuse

I like how Evan is like, 'well obviously I'm gonna think of trains if I see tracks!' But, that's not really the point of the ad. The I spy game was just a tool to get to the actual point. Shock. On first viewing the ad, especially as a kid, it seems entirely mundane, just a family going about their day outside. Then, suddenly, one of them isn't paying attention to where they're standing and... Bam, hit by a train. The entire point is that shock moment, which really jolts your system. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but it definitely worked for me. When I was a kid, going to a train platform, I'd always make sure I was a fair distance away from the edge. About 4-6 feet back. It's a good lesson.

The gorilla was the most iconic Cadbury ad ever, and probably the best ad of all time! If you have ever been to Cadbury's world in Birmingham, then you will find the gorilla playing the drums. We have something or basically the same thing here in Germany. Thing is, not every school seems to do it so when I switched schools and those kids suddenly all started to recite the explanation of that test I was like "What the actual fuck is going on here?!" and felt like I was in some weird parallel universe for a while. Why even do this shitty test, all it did was hurt my hip joints even more than they already were fucked up by that point because that quick stop and go thing is really bad for all joints. Every time we had to do that shit we had at least one kid almost puking or full on vomiting. It was not nice at all
