Okay so quick corrections ; He is influenced by Fela Anikulapo Ransome-Kuti. The king & originator of Afrobeats , so no it’s no Jamaican influence. That’s not a Staduim but the Nigerian National Arts Theatre in Lagos . Honestly , the second song , it was really about his voice being piped low , even if he was singing above the tunes & instruments , you’d not have still understood what he was saying because that song is sung in Igbo, Nigerian Pidgin English , Slangs & makes reference to things mostly if not only Nigerians can relate to . So it’s just good vibes , so people enjoy it . All in all, this was a very chill reaction & I liked it . You’d react not only to him but other Nigerian musicians of different genres & yes as Nigerians we are happy that he has joined the ranks of other Nigerians that have been awarded Grammys .
@MajorrBison3 жыл бұрын
Fela is the number one influence but no denying the Caribbean /Jamiaican influence coupled with his yoruba and pidgin then ofcourse english.

Nah he’s right the accent he did at the start was Jamaican patois u can literally hear his accent

“Affi shut the devil up” it’s literally patois 😂 plus burna has already said he uses Caribbean influence so no vex jare 😂

He was influenced by Jamaican type of genre too..not just Fela only!...so he's technically right.

I could understand some but the instruments def over powered his voice but like I said it was fine on purpose. I’m sure the language barrier would still have something to do with it in a dif eq but I doubt it would be that much
