Man I had to pause the video and say I appreciate the energy in the reaction. I've watched a ton of reaction videos on Cheslin and I feel a lot of people just don't understand how hard it is for someone of his height and size to make these amazing plays let alone the spatial awareness to put yourself in a position to do so. It takes a lot of dedication and mental fortitude. So it's one thing when someone reacts to his speed but it's another level when you understand why and how is he is able to perform like this. So definitely appreciate the energy man keep it up.

If you’re going to react to player highlights you gotta check out the GOAT Jonah Lomu. He was active during the 90s and early 2000s. Some will say he lacked some key skills modern players have e.g. kicking but he truly revolutionised the game. Before him wingers weren’t big guys. Jonah was 6’5, 250lbs and ran a 100m in 10.65. Also incredible agility. The guy was a fucking monster. Rest in peace, legend.

@@QSNgg Awesome giving Jonah Lomu a shout! He was an absolute monster! Given his size, speed and weight, he changed rugby in that every team in the world wanted massive winger ever since. What makes Kolbe so special, is he is only 5'7 and achieved all that in a world where wingers are supposed to be 6'4 (what Lomu was). I remember having my doubts when Kolbe burst onto he scene, but boy am I glad to be wrong!

South African here. Jonah Lomu was one of the greatest players rugby ever saw. That man was a machine. I'm old enough to have watched the 1995 Rugby World Cup as a young woman and he had our country on the edge of our seats. He was difficult to tackle, he had an almost preternatural speed, agility and strength for a man his size. I remember James Small (the bad boy of Springbok rugby at the time, RIP) grabbing the collar of his jersey at one point to get him down. We as Springbok supporters still respect his legacy. Rest in peace, Mr Lomu.

You can charge down the kick as soon as the place kicker has started his run up to the ball, this can even be if he twitches slightly to move towards the ball. It happens very rarely has the kicker is usually far enough away from the try line (where the other team have to be behind) that it is kicked way before anyone gets there. Cheslin got there as Thomas Ramos (the kicker) took a longer/slower run up then usual allowing Cheslin time to get the block. The final score was South Africa 29 France 28 so that blocked conversion basically won South Africa the game, this was a Quater final match at the 2023 world cup that was held in France as well. Hope that makes some sense. Love the videos dude keep it up.

The score for the South Africa vs France game was SA 29 - 28 FRA. For France to win they basically needed a conversion, which is 2 points. Which is exactly what Kolbe charged down after France's second try. There were obviously many factors at play but it's significant because you hardly ever see anyone make it to the kicker, the charge is usually to distract, but if the kicker takes too long the runner can literally go pick the ball up if he wanted to. An actual charge down though, in a quarter final game was super epic to see 🔥

Very excited that Cheslin is your fav, he is so talented and such an amazing athlete. Aw yeah it’s so delightful watching you get so excited watching him play! So the “helmet” he wears is a scrum cap, it doesn’t offer much/any protection except for players ears. It protects players from cauliflower ears. Hey Jaquester! Thanks so much for your kind words and feedback boss! I appreciate you 🙌🏽 There are definitely a lot of similarities in technique between rugby vs football. One thing I absolutely love about Rugby is that your athletes rely on solid fundamentally sound technique when initiating a tackle. As a defensive player myself it's absolutely beautiful to watch! At times in American football we try so hard for a big hit and fail to wrap up. Which allows stronger athletes to bounce off and keep going I'm definitely going to a rugby union match this year. 16:10 "What year was this?" World Cup 2023. Quarter Finals. An incredible weekend of rugby. NZ beat Ireland (who were ranked #1 at the time) after being written off having been destroyed in a warmup game by the Springboks and losing to France in the group stage. (if you like sports narratives there was some revenge at play after Ireland won a series in NZ in 2022 but that's for another comment section lol) Argentina beat Wales and Englnad beat Fiji, both very competitive and entertaining games. France v South Africa was insane. France were higher ranked and were playing at home, South Africa the defending champions. It was Dupont's first game back after a cheekbone fracture during the group stage (hence the scrum cap). Both teams seemed to be scoring at will, one after the other. SA won by a single point, which they would go on to do in both the semi-final and the final.

Some of these clips show Kolbe playing Rugby Sevens, this is a shortened version of the game played with only seven players on each side rather than fifteen. It’s still played on the same size pitch but with much shorter halves than fifteen a side. This is the version of rugby that is played at the Olympics and there is a separate international circuit. It’s well with a look, with fewer players on the pitch there is obviously much more space with a greater emphasis on speed and agility of players compared to fifteen a side.

He has 10.71 sec of per 100m I believe he is is 3rd or 4th fastest rugby player. Hes one of my favourites, he’s so humble and definitely master of his craft also the cutest little button face. He is just super fun to watch, there is also an Italian player who is still an underdog and him and Kolbe swapped jerseys at the Rugby World Cup 2023. So when someone is kicking to the post you can charge down but you can only start running when the kicker starts moving. Usually, people don't try it because it is nearly impossible to get to the kicker because the kicker will take the kick from further back. But with Cheslyn Kolbe's speed and where the kicker took the kick Cheslyn got the charge down

I think the biggest reasons Rugby players aren't paid as much as other major sport is its inherently a violent game and not a lot of brands want to associate their advertisements with violence. Professional rugby is also a continuous sport so there isn't a lot of time during the match for television adverts like there is in American sport.

The helmets rugby players wear are called scrum caps they don't really give any padding or protection to the head rather they are predominantly used by forward players in the scrum to protect their ears from getting ripped off or developing a condition called cauliflower-ear (if you haven't heard of it before another sport that cauliflower-ear shows up in is wrestling)... hope that helped and another player that might interest you is another South African winger called Kurt-Lee Ardense also a brilliant player with incredible speed, agility and a nack for scoring tries Ight Cheers

Btw, I saw you we're asking how fast Cheslin was. Well, he runs a 100m in 10.7, he ran that as a schoolboy so he is now much faster, however he is one of the slower Outside Backs in the Bok Squad. This is due to the fact that he has gained significant size, meaning he isn't running at his max possible speed. I reckon he would have been able to run a 10.6, maybe even a 10.59 at his peak.
