Yes, this is the first episode of "Count Duckula". The title is a play on the title of a British play titled "No Sex Please, We're British". So was a later episode of "Duckula" titled "No Yaks Please, We're Tibetan". There's a lot of wordplay in this series, which is why I keep coming back to it again and again. 😂 👍

The protagonist to Count Duckula was a character called Dr. Von Goosewing The show Count Duckula is set after Dangermouse, after Dangermouse kills Duckula and is resurrected using Ketchup instead of blood and making Duckula a Good character who is a Vegetarian Vampire. Count Duckula was one of several shows in a sort of odd "shared Universe" that Cosgrove Hall did back in the late 80's to early 90's. These shows were: Dangermouse, Count Duckula and Avenger Penguins

Duckula is sort of set in its own alternate Universe from Dangermouse. Kind of like how it was explained that the original Darkwing Duck was itself set in an alternative one to Ducktales. As for the Bandits, hey did on rare occasions make returns, but the primary antagonist was a Van Helsing character called Von Goosewing. Who if you rewatch the episode again, strangely appears in the background when Duckula is playing the saxophone. There was also a sort of spin-off of the show called Victor and Hugo. Who were reimaginings of two characters who also made rare appearances in the series.

In case you don't know, Count Duckula doubles as a loose spin-off of Danger Mouse. In the parent show, Duckula was a showbiz-crazed vampire villain whose talent was so lacklustre it terrified unwitting audiences. His end goal was to get his own TV show, but as Danger Mouse himself put it: "He's absolutely terrible! If he got his own show, it would ruin the whole industry!" In his own show, he's still showbiz-mad and fame hungry, but through a botched reincarnation ceremony (as depicted in the opening sequence), he's vegetarian, good-natured, and egotistical to a fault. As the theme song states, "Things never go to plan for Duckula", and this is down to his ego and short sightedness being his own worst enemy. He's honestly my favourite character from both shows as someone rewatching them lately. And don't you worry! When Danger Mouse got a reboot, they made sure to bring back the good Count, albeit in a hybrid form. Reboot Count is still a vegetarian, but he's back to being a showbiz-crazed maniac with terrible talent obsessed with Television.
