One of the funniest chants I have heard was at a Coventry v Birmingham game. Just a bit of background information. Coventry ended up without a stadium for a few years so one year they played all their home games at Birmingham's stadium. One match they had to play a home match against Birmingham. This meant that Birmingham were the away team on their own ground! So the Coventry fans sat in the home seats and the Birmingham fans sat in the away seats in their own stadium! A chant from Birmingham fans 'Who's the wanker in my seat'.

I've watched so many American reactions to this video and always laugh at how shocked they are but I've never laughed this much at ANY video 🤣 Your laughter is so contagious. If you haven't been to the UK, you would absolutely love our drinking culture. Come in match season, you'll love it. Britain is a miserable place but so we make our own fun. It's almost impossible for us to have an interaction or conversation without sarcasm or taking the piss one way or another, usually at ourselves. If someone is taking the piss out of you, usually it means they like you. The closer people are, the more brutal the insults are. Other reactions I've seen, people are concerned about the players "feelings"🙄 saying that it's cruel and would throw them off. ...well yeah, that is the point. But even the players themselves know it's 99% banter, hence the goalie clapping after being called a fatty for 90 minutes. It's all just fun at the end of the day, we don't need entertainment to laugh, we make it ourselves and it's probably the only thing I am proud of as a Brit, our sense of humour is shared up and down the land and the fun never stops. Oh and I subscribed👍 Which I NEVER do. So there's that.

There is no diplomatic way to describe Jimmy Saville. He was a DJ and tv personality who appeared to be a hero, raising millions for charities for the disabled and ill. After his death it became well known and not disputed that his charity work was all to give him access to physically and mentally disabled people and indeed morgues so he could engage in his sexual deviances.

Yeah. I work in one of the hospitals that he used to visit to 'help out'. Although all this stuff came out years before I started I actually met one of the nurses who'd worked in the wards that he used to visit and apparently a lot of the nursing staff had suspicions about him. Obviously they couldn't prove anything but she said they never left him alone with anybody after a couple of 'incidents' (she never discussed exactly what happened). But as someone already commented, the football stadiums are one of the last places for free speech!.. and it is also modern-day war-fare.. some teams have a distaste for each other, just because our little island is so compact and just from town to another there is tension.. Personally I think making up creative chants is more healthy than throwing a punch or pulling out a knife or gun 🤷🏽♀️ There is still violence sometimes, but more often than not it is the chants that show the "battle" .. Adam Johnson was an england international that got caught with a minor and spent a number of years in a 10 x 6! Jimmy Saville an ex dj and presenter that was found to have abused 100's of kids over his 60 year career! So don't feel sorry for either.

The most savage chant I ever heard. Bit of context, while back the Togo team coach travelling for an international tournament was shot at by gunmen in Africa, political stuff I would imagine, but anyway people on the coach died as far as I remember, fast forward a few months to the domestic season. A guy named Emmanuel Adebayor who was on that coach was the target. “Adebayor, Adebayorrrrrrr, used to like coach trips, but not anymore”

Also to add to my other comment, I’m proud that most of these chants are from my team Leeds United haha! When they started chanting who’s the slapper in the green, I was at that game

You perfectly described the difference between American and British sports fans on the We lose every week chant by saying that you were a Redskins fan and changed teams to the Buccaneers. No true Football fan over here changes their team. You can change your car You can change your mind You can change your job You can change your clothes You can even change your wife But NEVER EVER change your team

Absolutely. It's a complete no no to change your team. Unforgivable offence in football.

Sky TV heavily influence kick off times in the U.K. to suit their schedule. That means that fans sometimes have to travel across the country in the early hours of the morning to get to a 12 noon kick off (rather than the usual 3pm) just because Sky want to show the game. This partially ruins the away game experience for a lot of fans who have their travel plans ruined at pretty short notice.

You have a new subscriber. It is funny because watching these matches in the USA they don't really know what they are chanting so they don't blur it out. I was watching an Arsenal match and a fan close to the commentary box yelled 'hurry up you fucking pricks.' The commentators had to apologize. It was great.

If you’re watching on the TV it means you haven’t actually attended the game and are therefore an inferior person. It’s what fans who attend matches think of “armchair fans”. There is a video I’ve seen comparing English and American football (soccer) crowds, some of the American chants are quite awkward to watch.
@hillbill792 жыл бұрын
Not quite. If you're watching on the telly, then you're paying someone else for the privilege (BT, Sky etc), instead of paying your club directly to be there at the game. Not always possible though if tickets sell out fast.

You wana come to England and go and watch a match. The chants are ruthless! The Kiddy family one is a belter, it was sung to the Kidderminster fans. One of the best I've ever heard was sung to the tune of The Moray song.... "When your forehead is wide and your teeth are offside it's a Suarez" Sung to Suarez when he played for Liverpool

Lots of items about Jimmy Savile on the internet. Some chants are funny like the “we lose every week” one and one player in particular took a lot of chants because he had a large overbite, everyone sang about his teeth being offside. Most are harmless fun chants but sometimes they can be brutal. Enjoyed the video, I’ve heard most of them before but was still laughing. 🤣😂

Don't feel too sorry for the evil monster that was Jimmy Savile. He was famous and powerful but when he died, only then did the extent of his horrific actions towards children, etc, come to light, I'm afraid. He was from Yorkshire and many of these chants are defensive chants from fans of his local Club to deflect the abuse coming their way.

"Jimmy Saville" was a presenter in a 70's TV show, "Top of the pops" that was promoting new music. But as such, Jimmy had an abundance of children, to prey upon. And this was a show made by BBC, so they were powerful in England. Any protests, and demand that Jimmy was investigated for abusing children, was denied by the BBC.
@kimpixiewinkle6923 Жыл бұрын
Did you not read any comments or watch any of his other videos? This entire comment section is just hundreds of people explaining Jimmy Saville. Plus, this video is a year old and the one that got Boomers fan base rolling. In the video made after this one, boomer explains that he had looked up Jimmy Saville and now understands the chants.
