dude, i'm from Australia and I had my son watch this wen he was 6. He has now watched and quoted it more than 300 times with me. He has gone from delinquent to, I guess nerd, but he's more intelligent and helps him move forward than most he's seen. He's now 13 by the way

There's also a Japanese history one as well that slots in after the part where he goes "And Japan became sunrise land" and it then says intermission. Bit shorter but also amazing to watch.

Yeah definitely worth it. I think it was originally done as part of a school project, but it blew up online and people requested more so he decided to make one about the history of the entire world

I've watched this a few times, I love the humor and almost every time I've watched it there comes a few more details I didn't notice the previous time. I remember from a Comment on another channel, that it took him almost an Year to do this, 1st do the research (what to put in and what not to put there), then be able to explain it very simple but understandable etc.

Amazing video. Only shortcoming that is actually screaming at me from the video, is the dominance on the northern hemisphere with only few side mentions related to the southern hemisphere. I guess the reason is that despite the rich history it has, it was not documented nearly as well as that of the northern hemisphere? Regarding reaction to it, I found that a certain level of knowledge about history results in finding this way more educational as opposed to being overloaded with all these (new) facts and struggling to keep up.
@David_C_83
@David_C_83 2 жыл бұрын
I often wondered but even when you look at say North America, a lot of the history is relatively modern and I want to guess that it's because a lot of it was not written. If you look at most of the stories you hear from the natives that lived around before the Europeans decided to explore to new world, they were passed orally from generation through generation without there being books or writings.
@xenotypos
@xenotypos 2 жыл бұрын
The southern hemisphere has also a lot less land and people than the northern one. It was even worse in the past, before the migrations in south America and the demographic boom of sub-saharan Africa. He also tried to stick to the most relevant stuff in world history, he didn't mention some countries in the north at all too like Ireland, or anything related to celts in general. I don't think he was really centered on the northern hemisphere.

I love bill wurtz's take on history. It doesnt take sides and its totally objective. Includes a lot about south east asia and the middle east that isn't clouded by propaganda. Not a lot of people know that the vietnam war began as a war between the us and russia that the poor vietnamese population was caught in the middle of.

I love it so much too. You were surprised you hadn't come across it before. If you haven't seen it yet, there's a must-see video of KZbin called The Fallen of WW2. its about the length of this video, and uses easy to follow graphics that put all the numbers into easily understood proportions.

Undisputed as the best KZbin video of all time, in my humble opinion. He's very talented and the effort that went into that piece of audiovisual art is truly commendable and totally apparent. In an age where there is so much cheap, shallow and rehashed entertainment and media, this truly stands out as an example of why quality and artistic integrity is always preferable to more, low-quality content. I've watched it at least 15-20 times and I never tire of it. And watching other people experience it for the first time is thoroughly enjoyable as well.

Fascinating, simply fascinating. (Live long and prosper!) Gives you a general idea of what happened at the same time in different places on Earth while the stuff you learn in school happened. One of those rare things you pick up new things almost every time you watch. It was incredibly well done. As for rate of population increase, yeah. Increasing at a rate of about 81 million per year. (About 1.05%/year). Peak was about 2%/year in the 60s. Mind blowing, to say least.

Wanna know the crazy thing about Columbus? It is said that Christopher Columbus was a spy for the Portuguese crown. When Portugal and Spain devided the world between them, Portugal got the tip of Brazil. The rest of Brazil went to Portugal because they pulled a sneaky on Spain and knew that Brazil was rich on gold and sugar (thank you sailors that scouted the inner part of Brazil), so they pushed the "border" further, stealing territory off of the spaniards. Source: I am portuguese. BTW i love your Group B reaction videos PS.: This video was so entertaining
