@@adrianbradley8513 - yes he is - a Roman Catholic I believe. Probably the reason why he doesn’t use bad words in his sketches EVER. For me personally I like that. Sadly, there are very few comedians around like that these days. The worst example that springs to mind that I could never follow because of his racist/homophobic so called ‘comedic’ presentations was the late Bernard Manning. Appalling character.

Been to a few MJ gigs now and they are gold. The jokes build and gradually refer back - you start off with the odd chuckle but, by the end, there are just tears of cumulative laughter rolling down!

I first discovered Milton Jones on BBC Radio; he had a series "The Very World of Milton Jones" with vague plots filled in by puns and one-liners. Hadn't heard him in a long time, so thanks for this.

Very nice bloke, met him in person. The vicar at my local village church knows him, don't know how exactly. He managed to get him to come and do a show in the village recreation ground to help fund church repairs. Made a lot of jokes relating to our village, which shows he took time to do some research. Love Milton, see him alot on the live circuit and he is always a nice bit of silly amongst the 'edgyier' comedians. He's one that always leaves you in tears. One of my faves- I''d like to die peacefully in my sleep like my granfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers'

@@TheWarpseed Not sure. I know at his peak Bob and Denis Goodwin were writing around 7 hours of comedy a week, including a number of radio shows and much of Bob Hope's material. Monkhouse had the largest collection of off-air recordings of TV from the 70s until his death- tens of thousands of hours of every variety show and comedy ever broadcast- and 15 years later archivists are still going through it and cataloguing it.

I think that was very clever of Milton to rescue the "my nephew was an accountant joke". He had obviously worked out an additional punchline in case the original one didn't go down so well - It was slightly ruined by the person "woo-hooing" and Milton responding. I've seen him do the joke in front of other live audiences and they've loved the original punchline, and the follow up just built on that.

Milton is a very funny guy both on and off stage. In fact, he is known for his pranks and windups during the Edinburgh festivals. Including hiding a phone on the STV set and repeatedly calling Kevin Bridges during his interview with them to ask " Hey Kev, it's me again! Have you seen my phone anywhere" This was during a live broadcast on STV News.

He has a skewiff view on life. He often repeats themes, but always delivers the unexpected. Jeremy Hardy was a good laid back comic, didn't do one liners but rambled more. Check out his Montreal comedy festival appearance.

This I believe was one of if not his first proper appearance on TV. He's honed his delivery a lot since then, but is still just as off the wall. Most commonly seen as a series regular on Mock the week. He's a bit like the offspring of the great Steven Wright and Emo Phillips.
