When my parents flew over from the UK to Germany to visit me, they bought my little cousin a brightly coloured, plastic, super soaker water pistol, still sealed in its box, which they attempted to take on to the plane home. German officials detained them for attempting to bring a gun on board. This was in the mid nineties… way before 9/11. There was no way anyone could mistake it for a real gun. Reminds me of the butter knife incident.

I have waited so long for you to do this episode, in my opinion it’s the funniest episode. Also when grandad says he saw a man getting shot in a pub in aldershot, well I’m from Aldershot and it typical for someone to shot in a pub here

It happens in Britain as well, if you say the word "Bomb" you get questioned by the police. Happened on the Ewan McGregor Charley Boorman 2nd motorbike adventure Long Way Down as they were flying from London up to Scotland to start the journey from John O'Groats. The woman dealing with them was being over officious and Charley decided to joke about bombs to break the tension. Everyone else got on the plane as Charley was held back to be interviewed by the police and had to get a later flight.

Someone commented on Twitter recently that Morgana Robinson (actress/comedian/impressionist/panel show goddess) is the grown-up version of Karen. A spot-on observation. She’s well worth a look, I’m sure you’d enjoy her work. An impressive CV: her own sketch shows, House of Fools with Vic & Bob, the current series of Taskmaster, The Windsors… an immense talent.

The year that we had the attack on 9/11 my friend sent me a ticket to come to Holland because I finished my last cancer treatment and I went and had a great time, coming back I was detained for over 45 minutes while they asked me questions what I was doing in Holland how I knew my friend and why I brought cheese back in my suitcase ☹️ plus they unwrapped all my gifts of chocolate for my family. I get it but it was an ordeal.
