To answer a few questions; Kenny Dalgleish was a footballer who played for Liverpool, judges are referred to as 'your honour'; although for everyday use 'sir' and ma'am are more common. The 'depressing Disneyland' is a downmarket seaside town called Blackpool (imagine combining Las Vegas with Detroit and that is where we are at). The Alan who died was a character called Alan Bradley from Coronation Street who was run over by a tram in Blackpool in 1989.

Taffe316 - It's actually Brian's third club. His first one, the Aquarius (only seen in a flashback in Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere) flooded with people electricuted and Brian was sent to hospital when he was pinned to the bar with a fruit machine, trying to save the night's takings (Mentioned in That Peter Kay Thing). One of the outtakes was the sign reading 'magistrates court' falling off the building. Love the video. In a deleted scene, a bar worker comes to the club when Brian is outside, and says Den Perry wanted to buy the old Phoenix club.

Peter seems to incorporate things people, places and things which are references from the 70's/80's such as Bob Carolgees and Spit the dog who was in a children's programme called Tiwas, Jim Bowen from Bullseye, Ironside was a popular US TV detective programme back then. The reference to Kenny Dalglish was a former manager for Liverpool football team, the music during his speech were sports theme tunes and chart hits from back then. Blackpool which has it's infamous lights and had hotels named The Ponderosa and the 'disabled' charity collection box was something you saw outside shops and clubs in back then. Thankfully the charity was renamed as it wasn't very PC.

We call our judges your honour too - it's just Brian isn't the sharpest 😉 Also the location Brian was in with the flowers in is Blackpool, a seaside resort in the North West of England. In its heyday it was one of the places to be in for families for staycations. Apart from the annual illuminations and the Pleasure Beach (theme park), it can often be been as a "Sad Disneyland" these days thanks to the economy. Fun fact: There is an edited version of the Amarillo video available with Jimmy edited out. There's also a new version made last year to honour NHS and Key Workers in the fight for Covid.

We would also say, your honour, in court, your majesty is just for the royal family.

Don't know if you noticed but come and get your black bin bags was written by Peter after hearing, hear come the men in black by Will Smith. The 2nd song Jerry does in the supermarket about corned beef was meant to be call me by blonde but they couldn't get permission to use the melody. Actually if you put the subtitles on the dvd when he's singing corned beef it says in brackets to the tune of call me, when it isn't.

The black bin bags original song is 'Forget Me Nots' by Patrice Rushen, the melody/bassline was sampled by Will Smith for Men in Black.

@@bigthecat100 true but Peter said he got the idea after men in black came on the radio and based it around that.
