When i lived in canada i had a neighbor that was from scotland so i asked him if he supported celtic or rangers. I was then met with a 5 minute speech about how much he and his entire family back home hated rangers and how they were fights on the streets and bars after every derby game in scotland. You could feel the hate in his words when he spoke about the other team. The hate there runs deep, that derby is number 1 for sure. Most barca fans have a friend or someone they know that's a madrid fan and vice versa. The same can't be said for celtic n rangers fans.

In Asia, you should consider the one in India (Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal) as the biggest football rivalry. Also, the one in Indonesia seems to be the violent than the other Asian countries. The game between Persebaya and Arema in 2022 resulted in one of the deadliest football tragedies in the world, with 135 peoples killed in a fatal crowd crush.

Celtic against Rangers is far more intense than the el Classico. The El Classico is just the most known derby because it’s between the most successful clubs in world football. There is some history about it but in general it’s not that intense between the fans and fans are literally sitting next to each other during the game like in the nba. Celtic and rangers is way deeper, it’s like serious and it’s not a game anymore in Schottland, it’s about religion and I don’t know if it can get more serious than that.

With Africa it's alot different u can't just pick one derby and say it's the biggest for all of Africa because in the south of Africa.. The Soweto Darby was considered the biggest but if u go to a different region it's the Kairo or the Casablanca... We do not have access to each other's respective leagues to know and watch these matches unfortunately
