Shuffling and the Melbourne Shuffle was huge part of the Australian Hard Dance Culture in the Early to Mid 2000's. This style of shuffling originated from Melbourne Australia which later grew popularity in Europe and Asia.

The dance is called the Melbourne shuffle, or shuffle dance, that originated in Australia in the 1980s. With energetic steps, it is becoming a new form of "square dance" occupying China's urban spaces from parks to plazas and a popular pound-losing exercise for many elderly and middle-age Chinese.

This compilation got most of my generation in Melbourne get into the dance in 2007. It has a plaque dedicated to it in ACMI for it's feats in the early days of KZbin. I never anticipated to become friends with most people involved with the scene / videos back then. Best thing that ever came into my life. It's taken me across the ocean on more than one occasion. Long live the Melbourne Shuffle

We party so hard in Melbourne biggest mdma users in the world in aus. From Tekno mulisha warehouse raves or under the Westgate raves before they were infested by people mugging others. Melbourne’s clubs go off every weekend all over the cbd some crazy places like cloud9 and hidden forest, mostly playing minimal and Melbourne bounce was a big thing before it became cringed; the famous revolver ofc. Ended up only enjoyin the psytrance bush doofs and festivals like rainbow serpent and esoteric; always great vibes and more psychedelics than Just straight cookers This is all pre covid mind you I’m not sure what it’s like these days I don’t think the festivals are on

I worked in the EDM scene doing production for a lot of the large parties in Melbourne from 96 to 2000 and can assure you this is the Melbourne shuffle. If I danced anywhere else people could tell I was from Melbourne. It’s what ended up becoming known as just “shuffling” eventually thanks to caine-toads like LMFAO

Oh wow you took me back to the Mid 90's at a very young age sneaking to Melbourne rave parties at various warehouses, Doing the melbourne shuffle was a passage to adulthood. When i went to Europe in early 2000's you could tell who is from Oz when the burst out and do the Melbourne Shuffle. Julian Assange was there during the first generation ( late 80's to early 90's ) when it all started i think there is a video somewhere doing a shuffle at a party in a Scandinavian country.

Yes. Well. The city that spawned sharpies has not surprised me. It's true that all shuffling dances originated from the Melbourne shuffle in the 1980s, so another Australian first. It was a bit more out there in the early days, but it is far more refined these days. Still looked a bit gorfy if you ask me. Talented, but gorfy.

Hey Iwrocker, in the video about Darwin, it was mentioned how close we are to Bali, I have a suggestion for a reaction video, however its not your usual happy sort of video. (Im sure any Aussies reading this, already knows exactly where I'm going with it) It's about one of the darkest days in Australian and Indonesian history. About A year after 9/11, two suicide bombers from a group linked to Al Qaeda detonated 2 bombs, one at a Bar and one at a Nightclub in Bali, killing a total of 88 Australians, the biggest loss of Australian life in a terrorist attack. We've just passed the 20 year anniversary last month so there is a lot of recent, reflective news reports on KZbin, this is just small 5 min one kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3iUmYNmebSDhrM I know It's a tough subject tackle, but you being someone that we know very much adores Australia, it might be worth having have a look into it, even just in your spare time if it's not a topic you want to make a video about.✌️
