I grew up and went to school in Plumstead! And that IS the truth… the Plumstead Ladies Male Voice Choir must have been a very select institution, for ‘I’ have never heard of them.! 😂😂

I, watched the two ronnies nearly 40 years ago growing up in the UK. They were national treasures and you couldn't believe how huge they were and how they resonated with the British back then at the time. Ronnie Barker was comic genius in everything that he did.

@dUg's picnic 'The Magnificent Evans' which was ok but not his best work. He played an outrageous Welsh-valley Photographer, very extravagant, based loosely on a famous portrait artist from the edwardian days, Augustus John. It did feature the delectable, gorgeous, busty Sharon Morgan! I think it was made in around 82, 83, just 6 episodes.

I remember getting a Two Ronnies album for Christmas. I was about 12 and a big two Ronnies fan. The Plumstead Ladies male voice choir was on it. Fantastic memories. Just the look on my Mum and Dad's faces when they realised it wasn't the version which went out on BBC One. So much ruder. Thanks for showing it 😊

My memories of Ronnie Barker go back to his days on BBC Radio in The Navy Lark as "other parts played by". He had different voices for the Admiral, the Chief Engineer, Leading Seaman Goldstein the Starboard Lookout and a host of other occasional characters. I'm delighted to say that I can once again listen to episodes of TNL here on KZbin. Yippee!

Hey Squirrel. I think now you've gently eased yourself into British comedy with the tame stuff you should check out comedians like Harry Enfield (His Kevin sketches are some of the best but you have to watch the one where Kevin turns into a teenager first). The Fast Show. Hale & Pace (Especially Billy & Johnny skits). Alas Smith & Jones. Oh and a good dose of Blackadder which featured an array of British comedy greats. (Rowan Atkinson aka Mr Bean). I like the Young Ones too but that's an acquired taste.

Watched 1/2 of the EB video so far if your looking for a very funny comedienne who apart from her sitcoms was mainly musically based that no other reacters are doing videos too try Victoria Wood (suggestion to start Lets do it- the Ballad of Barry and Freda) or even Pam Eyres poetry its hiliarous and clever(start with They Should have asked my Husband).

Quality has a habit of not getting old, with Barker mind it is difficult finding something that isn't quality. I don't think the midwife slapped his butt at birth I think she branded it ''COMEDY LEGEND''.

Nice one, Squirrel (that might strike a chord with some Brits!). Another great Two Ronnies musical sketch is of the Morris Dancers singing "Bold Sir John"... I think you'll enjoy it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5exdZ6Lfq6Dmc0

If I remember right, Ronnie Barker hated dressing in drag even though he likely wrote the sketches.
