Ches is a good person, in school he refused to go to schools that buys rugby players. He stuck to his friends. He was told by Springboks that he is to small for the big players...he proved everyone wrong when he got his change. In school he did not have this amount of skill but still one of the best. After school the man worked extremely hard to earn his spot. Great friend great person great athlete.

I'm a kiwi so obviously I back the All Blacks, but I can admit this guy is seriously good! Being rather short myself, I really enjoy seeing the 'smaller' rugby guys take on the larger guys with no hesitation 💪 Another great smaller guy to watch is "Faf de Klerk - The giant slayer". Kolbe is one of the greatest. What makes him great is that he was considered too small in rugby terms by previous Springbok coaches. He grabbed his opportunity with both hands and showed the world what he is all about! Kolbe is and always will be a legend!

"Best rugby player in the world"? No, I don't think you can really determine that in terms of rugby players. Rugby is a varied game, with many specialist positions. Different skills and attributes are needed for those positions, so an excellent prop - the very best best the world has ever seen - would likely be pretty much useless as, say, a wing, or a scrum half, or a lock. It's like saying a particular running back is the best NFL player. But you can really compare running backs to tight ends to quarterbacks to linebackers, etc. They are different. Apples and Oranges. What we _can_ say for Kolbe, though: he is unambiguously and incontestably on of the very best steppers of all time.

There are players in different positions who have different skillsets. Kolbe's a winger, and he's certainly one of the best in his position, if not the best. But the current European Player of the Year is Josh van der Flier, who's a flanker, and while he's a dynamic ball-carrier for a forward, he's mostly recognised for his tackles and turnovers. Our rugby guys don`t wear helmets or dish cloths on their pants, they have slightly padded rugby vests and gum guards. What they also have is GPS devices attached to the rugby jerseys to monitor and revue every move for the after-match revue.

HI there. 11.30sec...If the video producer had let you watch the next few seconds of that game you would have seen Richie Mountain from the NZ All blacks (who is not a WING) actually make a successful tackle on Cheslea Kobe. But, the editing of the video removed that part.

When it comes to going out of bounds Rugby is more like basketball. It is a turnover and the opposing team gets to restart play. The catch is that if you tackle the opposing player into touch you still get the ball. There was the one tackle where you see Kolbe pulling the guy out causing him to make a desperation off load.

I appreciate your clip aboubt Cheslyn Kolbe, but he is best friends with 'Rambo' aka Eben Etzebeth, no 4. That hurt man. Eben also makes a lot of balls available to try scorers by getting the ball out of gruelling loose rucks, but you didn't see this sir. Siya and Eben works with a plan to get the back row to score tries and have opportunities for drop kicks. We love love love Kolbe, but so do we love our entire team. The thing is, most of these tries and moves are against the best players in the world and in important games. His cousin Wayde Van Niekerk was also quite fast (sub 10 100m, sub 20 200m, and world record and Olympic gold 400m !!!!). You don't have to be a giant - you can be a Kolbe or a Loma and every size in between.

In any of these highlight vids, you have to understand who the other players (victims) are. 2:13 the bloke being made to look like a fool is Owen Farrell, one of the best backs in the game and renowned for his (dirty) try-stopping tackles. All he can do against Kolbe is lie on the ground and look sad. Joe Marler, the other guy who is nearby, has the excuse of being 240lb of front row muscle, not even in Kolbe's league for speed or agility. 5:55 those two are Aaron Smith and Richie Mo'unga, one of the greatest centre pairings of all time and often holding the starting spots on the All Blacks test rugby team. Kolbe makes them look a bit silly here. 8:34 he puts down Courtney Lawes like it's nothing. That guy is 6'8'' 250lb, and one of the best locks on the planet.
