I don't know how old the Crumlin Pot Noodle advert is, but I can't remember it and I'm gutted because I've lived less than 5 miles away from the Crumlin mine for 4 years. Love the channels by the way, you're a good guy.

They're from the mid 90s, those adverts got banned because of complaints from Welsh miners about them being distasteful and disrespectful to the miners.

@@jollybodger Quite funny considering the pot noodle factory is located in crospenmaen and its one of the companies that gave the miners jobs after the pit closed. My neighbour ex mine supervisor ended up working for golden wonder when they ran the factory.

I remember the Mining spoof. A lot of the others I didn't. coincidentally, I used to work on Pen-y-Fan ind. est. near Crumlin. Abingdon Carpets in the mid 80s.

Adverts that may not be suitable for younger viewers have to appear after the watershed (9pm) so parents have to consider this when letting their kids stay up late watching TV

the Ultimate potnoodle treat is a potnoodle toastie, make your potnoodle as normal, strain the noodles n bits but keep the juice, then put the noodles into a brevil sandwich toaster with buttered bread, cook until toastie and munch, use the noodle juice as a dip to cool the plasma temperature inside of the toastie to just mouth skin peeling hotness, its the ultimate noodle treat, the yellow curry flavour is my fave for this

THE SLAG OF ALL SNACKS was on huge billboards, and the Advertising Standards Authority made them pull the adverts, which was genius as I think the sales went through the roof because of all the press surrounding the ban.

Yes these adverts would have been on normal TV. Some of the spicier ones would probably only get shown after the 'watershed' / late at night. The noodle mine one was investigate by the Advertising Standards Authority after receiving 81 complaints. The ASA said: "We acknowledged that the ad offended some viewers. However, we did not consider the depiction of Welsh miners in the ad was derogatory to the Welsh. The miners in the ad were workers from the Crumlin pot noodle factory.

in britain there is the 9pm watershed sometimes just called the watershed a period of time that starts at 9pm and often on till about 4 or 5 am, where more adult programs like uncensored standup comedy, some sexual stuff(though not porn), horror stuf, nudity, and just more for adult stuff including adverts can be shown, the idea is kids should be in bed by 9pm and if they are not and see that stuff then its on their parents if it affects them, so the ones scary or slightly more adult are shown after 9pm, sometimes companies run 1 advert all day, other companies make seperate adverts for the watershed

Carlsberg adverts - the old ones. Enough said…. (Our funniest adverts revolve around food and drink for the most part but we do have some good jingles or slogans for MOT/mechanics centres like KwiK Fit, grocery shops and phone stores, such as Fones4U, etc)

There are many more Pot Noodle adverts, but I'm surprised the compilation never included the Pot Noodle 'Ace of Spades' ad. An advert so odd, with flashing imagery, that got banned from tv for the possibility of causing epileptic sseizures. It was the early 90's Pot Noodle ad that set them on the path of ridiculousness.

Yes the adverts go on national tely they don't play on the children channels however they do play suitable adverts like toy adverts on the children channel. The s*xual adverts will play after 9pm as that's watershed hours so after 9pm they can play the adult adverts etc

the king pot noodle is basically the same as a normal size pot noodle ,they are also a different price than a normal size and people get ripped off . I do believe many people or customers eventually saw the light after a few days if they looked closer to the ingredients of both pot noodle containers.
