Obviously not everyone voted for them. They might've won many of the direct seats and are now the second strongest faction, but they got only about 30% in proportional votes. So more than two of three Saxons didn't vote for them. And it's mostly the rural areas that voted for them while the big cities voted mostly towards the left.

14:00 Woulda thought the concept of master theses was a thing in the US but in case it's not: A bachelor thesis is the last thing you'll do before getting your bachelor's degree for most uni programmes. Details vary but they're usually supposed to be done in 2 months. Usually. Mine took over a year because of lack of support and lack of pressure. This concept is foreign in some other European countries as well (my 2nd/external supervisor was from Belgium and had never heard of it before). Mine was worth 10 credits, which is basically a third of a semester. A master thesis is supposed to be 6-8 months and otherwise works about the same way. These are supposed to be more serious research and not just basic. Worth 30 credits in my case, so a full semester and I had supporting modules (like presentations on it and some such), which meant it was more like a third of my final grade. Mine took 10-11 months though because it was *that year* and the CT (which I had to use to even get started) was broken for 5-6 months (they said they had trouble getting a repair guy in bc of C). I would have assumed these to be a thing anywhere. And yeah, a dissertation you know but just for comparison, those take 3 years ideally but I have never seen anyone finish theirs in 3 years. This is also more of an actual job, at least in the cases that I know. Often criminally (I mean literally) underpaid. You might get half a position or even a quarter of one officially but still only for a certain amount of years, so you either work full time for free or you don't get your PhD. So you get paid below minimum wage. As someone with a graduate degree. I know some lucky exceptions but they are exactly that. Especially in the sciences. The two people I know who got great pay are actually an economist and someone in social studies, oddly enough.

0:38: 31 October is Reformation Day and a public holiday in the red states, while 1 November is All Saints' Day, which is a public holiday in the red states. And in the white states, neither of them is a public holiday. So they have to work on both days.

the meme with the Sachsen Onkel meant, that there are many Neo-Nazis in sachsen and the term "Nach dem Rechten schauen" was especialy used for the word "Rechten". In German "Rechts" is not only a direction, but also a Political Statement to be a Nazi

I am one of the few (we say "arme Würstchen" = poor souls) living in Hesse (the federal state in the middle, being white) having NOT a day off on either Oct 31 or Nov 1. I believe this might be a severe case of discrimination! I am definitely miffed about it!
The problem is corruption ... not capitalism. People can only get "this stinking rich" because LOOPHOLES exist so they dont have to pay any taxes. Amazon in the EU only pays 1% tax ... in Luxembourg ... because they made a special deal with Jean-Claude Juncker. Communism isnt the solution ... but invading Luxembourg / making LUXEMBOURG pay for the EU for a change is. Apple, Google, Starbucks, ... ... ... all have loopholes and thus their owners get stinking rich. Amazon needs to have a special tax levied on it anyways ... for the abomination called "Rings of Power".

Funfact about Oct 31st... Before the christianisation of Europe it was the Samhain fest, which was celebrated as the day/ night when connections between our world and the otherworld were very thin and all kinds of spirits, good and evil, came wandering through our world. The Church later put Allerheiligen/ All hollows eve around that date (not the "Halloween night" but the day after) but the Samhain traditions survived in former celtic cultures like Ireland and thus became Halloween later in the US. Basically Europe is now reimporting the commercialized american version of a former pagan tradition from almost 2 millenia ago :) oh yeah, and Oct. 31st became Reformation Day after all the Martin Luther protestant church thing happened and is still an official holiday in some mostly protestantic regions.
@clauslangenbroek98972 ай бұрын
Right, but one small correction: All hallows eve means Allerheiligen-Abend, where "Abend" denotes the evening/day before the holiday named Allerheiligen. Same concept as in Neujahrsabend (New Year's Eve, which we call Silvester)/Neujahr (New Year,) or even "Sonnabend/Sonntag."

I didn't pay attention when planning my vacation, in my state it is a holiday on October 31st (this year a Thursday) and I had to work on Friday, that would have been a typical bridge day where you could have had a long weekend with a one-day vacation (Friday) planned. Unfortunately, I "only" have 28 vacation days a whole year, haha. But hey, I had three weeks in September. German luxury problem, I know. The company's head office is in Hesse, they had to work both days and take over our work on the 31st. What a pity, I almost felt sorry for them. 💁

10:57 "Türringen" is a word, purposely written like that to make that Joke. Thüringen (Thuringia) is the Equivalent State in Germany, while it also Sounds like "Tür Ringen" which translates to "door Wrestling". In This Case, the Joke is about two doors that Wrestle, which is called "Ringen" (While that word has a few meanings, that is one of them. The meaning is easily known within the context if you can speak german 😀), Therefore Tür(door)ringen(Wrestling). The Sentence below, which says "Keine Ahnung, bin aus Hessen", translates to "No idea, i am from Hessen", like you stated and is a directly neighbouring state of Thriniga, hence the "No idea, i am from Hessen". 😀 Clever Wordplay in therms of "hearing" instead of "writing" or "seeing" it 😀 At least that is my take from it. Can be wrong about that, too. But for me, it looks like that. 11:40 NO WAY... he UNDERSTOOD IT AGAIN... Once is a mistake, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern 😂 Keep going like that and the we germans will acknowledge you as a Honorary German. 🤣 11:55 Just to correct you: That is one part of Voldemords crippled Soul? i think was. As Harry was a Baby, after he killed Harrys father with a avada kedavra? Spell i think it was and shortly before doing the same to his mother, he tried to do the same to Harry, but the "motherly love" saved him/protected him, made him a horcrux in the process. The Horcrux Voldemord never wanted to make. As long as the Horcrux existed, he was immortal. And i think this part was after Voldemord finally put him into the Death Curse Avada Kedavra, without knowing that he didn't kill Harry but destroyed his own Horcrux. That "Phetus" you called is the dying and shivering part of Voldemord 😀 At every Hardcore Potterhead out there: Have Mercy on me. I need to rewatch the Series at least 3-4x before i am able to perfectly and in every Detail, describe everything 🤣

The trick of getting rich is to not try doing it by earning money, but by creating something people value. Like companies. But even then, most of your worth is imaginary. People may buy and sell tiny pieces of your company for a certain price, but there aren't enough people with actual cash to buy all of it at once.
