Supermarket bake-off isn't the same as actual bakers bread... But I feel like more and more bakeries are moving towards sweet pastries, because customers don't wanna pay double for the more plain bread. The difference is simply too small between bake-off and bakery. And if people have time and a good recipe, they can make bakers quality at home costing less, because ovens at home have gotten really good these days. Edit: and many homes have more advanced mixers etc. Anyone really serious about their bread probably have equipment that's not too shabby compared to a bakery, considering the simpler types of bread. But, unlike bakers, regular people don't wanna get up at 4am to have morning bread ready at 7... so it often ends up with bake-off from Lidl or Netto. Edit 13:40 - I'm sure that vape isn't harmless, virtually nothing is, but I do know that it doesn't reek, and dissolves in the surrounding air in virtually no time and doesn't give your walls and curtains a yellow patina... so, my unprofessional conclusion is that it can't be nearly as harmful to "second hand vapers"... As far as I know, the anti-vapers might as well be strict anti-smokers being disgruntled that an alternative was invented, ex-smokers that feel envious or big tobacco trying to influence the public as to get vapers back on tobacco. One thing Americans like to accuse Germans of is the lack of creativity; the inability to create new words instead of compound words. And then there are vegans, who put "vegan" in front of every meat based product to signalize that it's made out of plants. I would call that vegan schnitzel "Paniertes, gehackeltes Gemüse in Filet form." Certainly a mouthful, but better than to hijack an existing word. It's also a pun on the English language; the inability to create a new word for terms that need a whole sentence to be described.
