first, thanks for the very honest reaction. they are history metal, most of their songs are about important history and heroics, so yeah, lot of emotions. i would recommend the live performance of "en livstid i krig " from Göteborg Sweden, it is in Swedish but there are subtitles (not perfect but they get the message across) other dealing with the horror of war to hell and back soldier of heaven fields of verdun price of a mile then we have epic videos like Bismark Christmas truce the unkillable soldier (the true life of a soldier portried like a game, it is so unbelievable) the Royal guards followed by livgardet celebrating the Swedish Royal guards 500year anniversary animated story videos nightwitches no bullets fly list is looOong, but as you are aware they are interesting to see

The guards and executioners in Auschwitz until mid-1941 were Jews called capos. Then Jews began to be taken to the camp at the end of the 1941s. Witold Pelecki's judge and executioner were communists with Jewish surnames who went to Israel in the late 1950s and were never punished. This is the dark side of Auschwitz that history is silent about and even KZbinrs are afraid to mention. Hoolywood was in Poland about 20 years ago and they wanted to make a film about Witold, but on the condition that he would be presented as a Jew and not a Pole, the family did not agree.

Great reaction to one of the most depressing stories in Sabaton songs. Now if you want something just as touching, but much more uplifting, try" No Bullets Fly"- animated STORY video. To answer your question yes, almost all Sabaton songs (except one album) are about war history and they don't take sides or express political opinions, they tell stories about persons and/or events they believe shouldn't be forgotten- good or bad

What a heck of a first reaction song - most people start with Bismark or Primo Victoria. You're in for a treat with Sabaton.
@miiah7475
@miiah7475 2 жыл бұрын
Sabaton is a metal band from Falun, Sweden. They started 1999. They've been doing history since the 2005 album "Primo Victoria". Their songs are about REAL historical war events, battles, people etc. They are highly historically accurate. The singer Joakim and the bass player Pär are the "history nerds" in the band who do the research and lyrics. They released their 10th studio album in march of 2022. "The War To End All Wars" which is their 2nd album about ww1. (and 9th about war/military history) They have a Sabaton History Channel on youtube, where they tell the real story behind every song in 15-20 min videos with an actual historian. They haven't gotten to all songs on the newest album yet, but they are otherwise caught up. CURRENT BAND MEMBERS (2022): Joakim Brodén, 1999- (lead vocals, keyboardss, some guitars, the main song writer, lyrics, "music director" of the band) Pär Sundström, 1999- (bass, lyrics, backing vocals, band manager, the "practical" side of running a band) Chris Rörland, 2012- (guitar, graphic design, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals) Hannes Van Dahl, 2013- (drums, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals) Married to Floor Jansen (the singer of Nightwish). Tommy Johansson, 2016- (guitar, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals) They tell stories. They do not make any kind of statements on politics or religion. And they DON'T touch anything that an actual independent historians haven't already written about. It has to be factual HISTORY and something they are personally interested about. Military history stories. That is their thing. And they do it well. Their shows are energetic, fun and (mostly) family friendly. They have a huge communal WE feeling. They have fans from all ages, from 5 to 85 at their shows, and a close to equal numbers of male and female fans. They also have an annual 3 day festival in Sweden (Sabaton Open Air), an annual Sabaton Cruise (2000 Sabaton fans on a boat between Sweden and Finland). Sabaton does about 150-200 shows a year normally. Arenas, theaters, event halls and festivals. They are truly one of the hardest working bands in metal. Oh and the band has visited Auschwitz 2 times. First was with the original lineup of 1999-2012 the second with the new one. They think it's important to see it (and many other places and museums, cemeteries and battlefields), considering what they sing about and pay their respects.

The vast majority of their songs are about battles or individual men/women who fought in them. They have one album, their first, where that isn't the case. So much of their music hits, and hits hard. For a very different aspect of war should check out their music video Christmas Truce.

I really like your reaction, I have watched a lot of ppl reacting to Witold History, and yours were one of the best, if not the best. Im from Poland, and im not much of a patriot, never were, and probably never will be. But his story is really touching. If there is any definition of a true hero, he is the one to fit it. But You said, that it is heavy to You, bcs your herritage is 80% german. But I dont believe that is the case here. Ppl who were doing that, are mostly, if not all already dead, or imprisoned. Its not about what Germans did, present germans have nothing to do with that, there is completly different mindset, its not about nationality. But about Ppl. What people can do to other people, if circumstances are wrong, and they have too much power over another being. This is sad, and terryfing. Bcs even now, as we grow as society, over those 80 years if the war came, some of us would act this monsterous way. Just bcs they can. And I think it is the saddest part about humanity, we are only humane, if circumstances are right.

The crazy part is I still get in arguments from Russians and some leftists saying, "he shouldn't have been spying on the soviets or helping pro liberal democratic poles." I have never viewed the Soviet Union as an ally, we only had the same enemy that's it. Another event where the poles were caught between the soviet and Nazi monsters were the Warsaw uprising and sabaton did a song on that as well and a history video. Long live the polish home army and liberal democracies.
@aarpftsz
@aarpftsz 2 жыл бұрын
Long live liberal democracies! But to anyone who might be reading this and getting the impression that leftists generally love USSR, that really isn't the case. Tankies and others who support today's Russian aggression are mostly hated/despised by the majority of "the Left". They might agree that USSR did some things right (early USSR with equalization of women, and maybe some policies here and there, like getting rid of, for a certain amount of time, the rampant Russian alcoholism). I mean, even a broken clock shows the correct time twice a day. But most agree that it was a totalitarian shithole that badly influenced other leftist movements and put a hard slow down on what other leftists generally strive for. There's also been a recent divide between the American and European left, where the former seems to have a larger number of those that have some kind of a support for the Russian cause.
@American-Orthodox-Christian

@@aarpftsz That’s why I said some leftists. I know not all are the same but the only leftists I trust are anarchists. I’m a libertarian myself. My sister is a marxist-Leninist. She even believes stalin wasn’t a dictator and that it is western propaganda. She hates other American leftists. I guess she would be a old school communist then lol.

Sabaton also have their own history channel called Sabaton History on KZbin where they have an actual historian explain the historic people and events that their songs are about. I highly recommend it. Also, if you want to hear a band that will forever change your perception of metal music (and music in general) then check out "Nightwish - Ghost Love Score Live at Wacken Open Air Festival 2013" The lead singer is considered by many to be the greatest and most versatile female vocalist in the world and she also happens to be married to the drummer of Sabaton.

Even prisners while forced work in german factories - sabotaged parts, worked slow, etc Then come the movies part, it seams nobody is interested in Poland to become a proper country - coruption is still high, ruling party is only looking to rule longer and not to benefit of Polish, to feed themselfs ... 50 years of communism is still lingering in institutions of Poland.

Now the Russians are doing it to Ukrainians, they have mobile crematoria, which is why Poles strongly support Ukrainians because they know this type of torturers. Without thinking, without debates (how doing the EU do), opening houses for strangers in need, quick organization of all help, even children in schools already have books at school to help them learn Polish so that it would be easier for everyone to settle. A small, poor country can, despite the EU's unfulfilled promises, of financial aid. Because what matters is life, freedom and justice for every human being.

I think it should be noted that the Soviet Union committed as much evil inside of pre-World War 2 Poland territory as the Nazis. Murdering Witold Pilecki as they did is typical. When the Polish resistance attempted to retake Warsaw from the Nazis in 1944, Soviet forces were only a few miles from the city, but they sat tight, and just let the Nazis slaughter them. Poland suffered horribly from both the Nazis and the USSR.

He wasn't really betrayed by his own, he was sentenced by soviet puppet court. Do not forget that Poland wasn't willingly communist it was decided in Yalta by Roosvelt and Stalin that Poland will be under iron courtain. Churchill was the only one that wanted Poland to be free state.

First of all Hollywood ruin his story they would change key elements in the movie just to make it entertaining most people will not sit down and watch a movie or whatever it is like that it would never do the man Justice. Watch a video of your father service in World War II. For me the personl experience Is far more interesting then the actual battles.
