We live in the best of times in human history. If you can't grasp that it's because you are completely unfamiliar with past history. Read 100 serious works of human history and find your safe place & time. You could be starving for ten thousand years, then at the mercy of anyone bigger than you with a club for ten thousand more, then at the mercy of religious laws or military enslavement for 5000 more. Then you get to recorded history and you have disease and war and superstition. All this time you have zero rights and no ability to change whatever you were born into. On & on. Wake up!

And there’s this insatiable appetite among a large number of people to consume endless talk of victimhood, hatred, blame. They think homelessness is a Democrat creation and problem. Not an American problem. They’re fed the same propaganda the Soviet Union used against America. Except now this propaganda is aimed at Democrats and blue cities and states. They talk of the homeless camps problem in blue cities as being caused by all the money being given to these people. They live in a world with zero solutions, only endless complaining. Endless blaming.

And on top of that, a bigger issue is..."what does the unregulated foot & vehicle traffic of thousands of illegal border transgressors do to the local environment?" Illegal alien border smuggling creates a lot of terrain damage, disruption of breeding/nesting/feeding ground activities and there are literally of tons of trash/litter in the desert filling the washes and arroyos of these areas.

I actually interact with a lot of people who live on the southern border through my job. They are VERY supportive of the wall and have often dealt with illegal migrants and smugglers firsthand. And funny thing, most of those people are Hispanic. The white guy says the wall is “racist”, but takes no effort to interview the locals. And if animals can live in the Korean DMZ, I’m sure they can live in the border area with the wall.

I am sure there are valuable minerals at the top and along the sides of those steep mountain ranges you showed the wall in. Maybe a crowd fund could be established to help promote mineral exploration on the Mexican side of those mountains. 🙂I live in AZ just south of Tucson. And if you ever visit Bisbee AZ, you can see huge areas blown up, dug out and excavated for the copper that was there. People do try to cross that desert, and they find bodies every year (the wall wasn't completed either) And yeah it can be easily cut with battery powered saws fairly easily. We can all thank Trump for building a monument to his freaking moronic ego. In these remote areas towers with night vision cameras and high resolution cameras hooked up to an AI photographic routine that detects human motion was all that was needed (and Border Patrol staffing to pick up those that were detected) Probably cost a few hundred million as opposed to billions. The wall was a few construction companies wet dream come true instead and it resulted in the disruption of the SW ecosystem they didn't give a crap about.

Pardon my ignorance, but how does the wall with it's current 'slat design' endanger plant life? I'm genuinely curious. Is it because plant reproduction is often times tied to animal movement and waste?

Well, you are assuming that all plants use windblown or bird droppings as a form of carrying seeds or seed containing fruit. But the digestive tract is one major source as is burrs getting caught in fur of animals on the move. So if animals can't move along in to other areas, habitats are cut off.

Just really poor writing and lazy thinking. Your qualifier "a person who used to ride across the boarder while training horses" is a non sequitur as you use it. All you mean is, "I see this as racism." That's your right but is also nonsense, as the fence is racially blind. If you are trying to say that the policy of a secure border (which I agree this does not accomplish) is racist, you are just wrong. Borders are pretty much standard elements of every nation across history.

@@djayjp - Harsh critique is the best critique for willing learners. @@johnsmith1474 Wellll Trump comes to mind. Other than the environmental issue (and cost...) I'm not saying it's necessarily wrong but it can be a slippery slope. Don't forget the platinum rule: treat others the way they would (reasonably assumed) like to be treated. Of course while not compromising objective truth. I'd wager you'd prefer this as well. Sometimes people aren't as knowledgeable or don't have the time to edit their comments as well as us (maybe they have better things to spend it on ha). I recommend always being cautious when it comes to personal criticism. I would just stick to the facts and avoid the subjective color commentary.
