A number of folks are expectedly asking about why the Army would have wanted this sort of incident to be buried. The honest answer could simply be because it was just an incident that no senior Army official would want to have to write up an official report on. After some thought, I suppose I didn't want to detract from Robert's story by offering my own speculations in the video, but I would keep in mind that this "El Diablo" event took place in December of 1986. The Iran-Contra affair was uncovered in November 1986, only a month before this incident in Honduras. And so this incident of Robert's happened right smack in the middle of the Congressional investigations into the highly publicized and very controversial Iran-Contra affair, where (if my understanding is correct) it was discovered that senior US officials were covertly orchestrating the sale of weapons to Iran in an effort to raise private funds to send to the Nicaraguan Contras in their fight against the Sandinistas. Even President Reagan was initially suspected of being involved in the affair, so you can imagine the heated political environment and angry finger-pointing taking place in the US at that time, as well as the potential impact that might have had on military operations closely related to the affair, if not directly related. I wonder if the same could possibly be said for the crashed Apache helicopter (with a Honduran soldier in the pilot's seat) that Robert would later find during his work as an MP on Fort Campbell. Possibly another "wrong place, wrong time" scenario. As they say in the military, "sh*t rolls downhill". It's difficult to point out how this "El Diablo" incident would have impacted anything relating to the scandal. But with the US Congress up in arms about it, there may be any number of reasons why senior-ranking Army officials didn't want any additional attention (or press coverage) on their units, themselves, or the ongoing operations in Honduras. I certainly don't have the experience or knowledge to offer any additional speculation, but aside from simply not believing the story, there could have been a reason for their seemingly disproportionate reaction to it. And as lower-ranking enlisted men, Robert and the others with him were just unfortunate to find themselves caught in the middle of all of it.

I am Honduran. Officially there are no extant anacondas in Central America, just smaller boa constrictors, but anecdotal stories of massive snakes abound, especially in the Eastern jungles by the Platano and Coco rivers. My own grandfather (r.i.p.) would often tell me a story about a strange encounter with a giant snake he had on the banks of the Ulua River in Northwest Honduras. He said that he used to work on a banana plantation back in the late 1940's and that on Sundays they would occasionally forage into the nearby jungle looking for wild fruits and bushmeat to supplement their diet. He said that one tme he heard rustling behind some bushes, and hoping to find an agouti paca or a rabbit he reached out and peaked behind it just to find himself face to face with a snake with a head the size of a horse's head. He says the snake immediately veered to a side and slithered back to the water, but was so long that it took a while to fully disappear into the dark waters. He said he was frozen, and couldn't run or look away, just stared at it dumbfounded. He said the snake's head was risen slightly above his own when he saw it (he was not a particularly tall man, about 1.67 meters), but that the snake's neck was not held up in an attack S-shape, but in the lazy forward curve snakes keep when exploring about. He also said the snake was incredibly thick and muscular, and he thought in retrospect that it was just about thick enough to fit a person inside it's belly. He figures either the snake was even more startled by the sudden encounter and didn't see him as prey, or had recently eaten and was not hungry. He said he never went again into that jungle patch by the river. The story always fascinated me. My grandpa was not a liar, and he was always a very keen observer even late into his life. He never lost his wits. I trust his account, plus with all the other similar accounts circulating about... well I can't help but think there is, or was, an element of truth to it all. One thing all these stories tend to have in common is that they are told by old people, none are recent, making me fear that whatever was there may not necessarily be around anymore.

There's a story of a Belgian pilot in a small plane in the early 50s flying low over the Congo (it was still a Belgian colony then). Saw a snake 15 metres long and the head was the size of a horse.

Im Guatemalan grew up there till around 8 years old, while living there my uncle encountered a snake so big that it could easily swallow a small calf. He shot at it with his rifle and the snake either dodged the bullets or was so big that the bullets didn’t do much to it. He went to reload and the snake took off into the bushes.

Appreciate you saying so Alex, thanks. Probably the first comment I've ever seen that directly addressed that. It was something of an internal battle for me, probably starting with the Roy Benavidez stories, whether to do the added artwork (multiple scenes/views of the same scene) to keep up with the story, since the added work makes the production time longer. But I just couldn't _not_ do it. IJust didn't sit right with me when the audio doesn't match the animation. Sometimes I can make up for the lost time with the longer "static" scenes like the interrogation room. Or by reusing scenes. Then I'm just worried people will get bored watching the same scene for more than a minute or two lol. I knew absolutely nothing about animation before this channel, and as longtime fan of animation, I now have an increasing respect for the thousands of hours work they must put into every episode of the shows I watch. - Luke

To me, this is absolutely believable. Anacondas will keep growing as long as they are alive. Just because we haven't caught one doesn't mean it doesn't exist, a snake that old and that large is also going to be incredibly cunning. If it wasn't for the cows, there might have been a missing squad instead. As the Honduran Sgt said, "many men have died when the Devil is hungry." Very cool story.

My brother in law was a UK Royal Marine Commando on exercise in Brunei. His unit was approached by some elders from a local riverside village who asked for help as several children had vanished whilst playing near the riverside and they believed a crocodile had taken them. This also alarmed him as his men would also wash and swim in the river after exercises. Late at night his unit launched light patrol boats with search lights.They found the crocodile and managed to eliminate it.The crocodile was tied up and in the morning it was dragged out of the river with a JCB digging tractor. The crocodile measured 21 feet in length. He showed me a photo of the beast it was incredible. 😮

The part that struck me was when he was discussing his fear of not seeing his mother again, and the speculations on his teammates that witnessed the event with him... who's to say he wouldn't have been labeled "KIA" if he didn't change his story under command? To me the thought of being snuffed out, nobody ever finding out about it, and being unable to do anything about it, is extremely unsettling

I believe his story. My grandmother is Filipino and grew up in a small jungle in the Philippines. She told me a story about when she was a small child and in their village they were terrorized by "something" that kept eating the pigs. They finally dug a deep pit and captured it. It was a huge snake. They killed it, and it provided food for the village for a week. I'm not sure it was quite as big as Robert's snake encounter, but I can believe in a snake getting that big and passing under the radar.

I spent 17 years of my life in east and southeast Asia, and I can easily tell you, there are big snakes out there that will put a scare into anyone. I don't even want to go near any tropical forest environments because of the stories told. People lose big cattle and farm animals on a daily basis, especially people who live in those districts. The communists will easily just brush the reports off, and/or silence people violently.

There have been some truly massive crocodiles captured in the Philippines and their attempts to capture even larger specimens failed miserably. In the Congo there are gigantic reptiles that live in the rivers but I forgot what they named them.

Honduran here, I remember around the early 90s when I was in grade school, I heard a LOT of stories about giant snakes, also in the Rio Coco, but a lot further northeast towards the coast. I remember it was my at-the-time best friend's dad who would tell us the stories, his job took him all over the country and he always came back with some tale or another. Back then they would keep me up at night scared. Unfortunately both men passed away about two years ago from illness (separate, unrelated illnesses) otherwise I would have asked to maybe get a retelling of some of the giant snake stories.

The giant prehistoric snakes TS talked about was _Titanoboa cerrejonensis_ from mid-late Paleocene epoch. Weirdly, despite its gigantic size, it has been suggested that unlike _Eunectes_ (that's anacondas, for you and me) which are macropredatory, _Titanoboa_ was piscivorous, preferring to eat fishes.

Considering that the greatest known length of an anaconda in the Amazonian basin is 37ft. Max size is unknown. Age of the measured specimen was unknown. The belief is that lifespan of these animals is 20-30 years. Snakes never stop growing over the course of their lives. So average that to roughly 1ft 6in of growth per year of life. A 50yr old anaconda at 80ft does not seem unreasonable.

i spent six months in the amazon ive seen plenty of anacondas. they are big but they arnt as big as you might think. 37ft sounds long but visually they just look like big boas. one peruvian guide told a story about when he was in the military he was training in the jungle with some americans. one guy went to take a dump and the huge log he leaned against began to move. turns out its a gigantic snake and they killed it. he said each man took back a rib bone and were all hushed to secrecy. said there was moss growing on it and was perfectly camouflaged. the guy was very serious but i havnt really thought about it till i watched this video.

Brazilian folklore has a couple of similar creatures described in this story. The most similar is the Boiúna (the name means "black snake" in tupi-guarani), a giant snake lurking underwater that can easily overturn boats. It is said that it's gaze can hypnotize sailors much like the song of the siren. The other one is the Boitatá ("fire snake" in tupi-guarani), a huge fiery snake associated with the will o'the wisp that protects the forests. It also lives underwater and is usually seen along river shores.

I worked with a guy who told me about the strange thing he saw ,with a bunch of other guys while in Vietnam. According to him, they went through the same interrogation technique to change their story too. It happened on an army firebase, during a fire mission.

What an incredible story!!! I've heard a story similar to this. Where a helicopter pilot was flying very low near tree tops in the Amazon rainforest. The pilot saw a gigantic snake coiled around the tree he was surveying. He said the snake was so big it tried striking at the helicopter. he took a picture of it and it is supposedly floating around in his belongings because he is now deceased. His son told this story and said he was shown the picture of the snake! Hope one day I could witness something so amazing!!!!

that same similar striking story happend to a group of pilots in a heli or plane over the congo in africa too... their estimate of the snake was easy 100ft and 2nd passover to get lower and better look thats when the snake tried striking them... idk how low/high they were but for a snake to do that even that big they usually dont strike straight up but even if it did they dont do more then 1/3 to 1/4 of their body size they cant just leap off the ground like that, so to strike means they think they can attack and grab you which means that heli or plane had to be decently low and anything under 100 feet is kinda low LOL

I'm so proud to be one of the cool kids. I've asked my grandpa several times to share some of his experiences in Vietnam. After years of pestering he finally said something that struck me. "During war you do not need to ask permission, you only need a clear understanding of what you feel is right. And a very direct understanding that no one else will see your point of view. Basically you have to learn to live with yourself." So from one consumer of wanting knowledge to another thank you for the stories.

Here’s one for your future smoke pit stories episodes. I have not served in the military. The closest thing would be back in college with Army ROTC 1990-1993. Never wanted it to be my career, so before I had to “contract” with the Army, I got out of the ROTC program. My father, numerous uncles, cousins, classmates, all of my siblings…and now my wife: they are all serving or have retired. That being said, my “experience” happened either late 1984 or in early 1985. The back roads of Fort Lewis and McChord AFB before they became JBLM. My mom worked at the McChord BX. She was working late one day, and asked me to basically go to work with her as she hated driving the back roads at night by herself. My dad had retired and we lived out in Spanaway. All I can remember is that on those days when she closed or whatever, one of us boys would always have to go with her so she wouldn’t be driving home at night alone. My father had relocated to Guam as he was hired in the university ROTC program (the one that I’d join five years later) so we boys had to help our mom out in situations like that. The road that we usually took was in fact, a back road then. It went from the main Fort Lewis area out to Madigan Hospital (that’s how I knew it in the early 1980s), and then out on the perimeter of both bases toward the then McChord back gate. It was between 2100-2200…mom was driving and I was in the back seat stretching out. Having spent the last seven hours of shopping, playing arcade games, and just sitting in the snack bar waiting for my mom…I was tired. We were passing behind the area that I knew was the base limits of Mchord…the barbed wire fences on both sides…the tank roads…warning signs…and tall trees were evidence that we were far from civilization. The only thing that illuminated the place were the hi-beams of our Pontiac Bonneville. My mom made sure that I was awake as this was the part of the drive that scared her the most: dark, heavy forests, no houses anywhere. As long as we could hurry through this part of the journey and get nearer to the old McChord back gate, we would be fine. The old back gate was near to the suburbs of Spanaway/Parkway…civilization lol. My mom had the radio on…probably the thousandth time I heard Jump by Van Halen that week. We started singing along. I liked the song, but I noticed my mom was just trying to hum along as she was a country-western music fan and didn’t know anything about the MTV era. I laughed at her as I looked out the windows into the darkness. The fading light from our headlights allowed me to see a bit behind the car, the trees fading into the black as we moved forward. That’s when I saw it. It crossed the road…from left to right…bounding more like it. Three or four steps it seemed, to cross a country two-lane road. It was a tall dark figure, because I had to strain looking out the back window, at an upward angle, to see how tall whatever this was. It happened quickly…in the time it took for the trees/road to fade into darkness behind our car…it had easily crossed the road. I yelled at my mom to ask her if she saw anything as we passed the spot, but she said no. She asked why I was yelling at her (in my culture you just don’t do that to your parents) and I told her that I saw something tall cross behind our car, going from the pond side (visible in day time) to the forested side of the road. She replied in a scared but stern voice, “That’s why I hate this road at night!” We didn’t speak about that night until decades later. We still acknowledge that I know that I saw something…we remember exactly where it was…and the sound of my voice and my scared look when I yelled at my mom, she knew I was truly scared. I’ve always believed in Bigfoot…I never needed proof. Well that night, I guess fate wanted to give me proof of their existence. I visited the area in 2018 with my wife and kids on a vacation…I was amazed that there were a few streets of houses, mobile homes and such near the area of my experience. It is still heavily forested although I could see the flight line of McChord then because I guess some trees were cut down. The pond was overgrown but still partially visible from the road. The access road to the old back gate is still there, and you could tell that it used to be a gate for the AFB back in the 1980s. It is now sealed off as the military opened a new gate somewhere else along the 5 freeway. The road seemed to be repaved over the decades…but the forests are still as thick and ominous as I remembered them. My family doesn’t really believe me but they enjoyed visiting the spot where my experience took place. Hope that this story passes muster. Take care, looking forward to more content. I heard stories like yours from guys who have been stationed at Ft. Lewis. I was never sent there myself , but where I was stationed in Germany , there were a few guys I knew who came there directly from Lewis , as well as a guy who came from about 20 miles from Lewis. The guy who grew up in Washington state, told me that his family had seen these things on several occasions, as they lived on a remote farm that was about 8 miles from the nearest town.

There are some claims of relocated Sasquatch that live on the base. I don't have the info, but I have read about several instances of relocation, spotting, encounters on and off base, and the policies to not engage. There are also stories of Sasquatch being moved from the Mt.St.Helens eruption to various places for medical treatment and relocation. They are considered first natives or something like that and military language people know their language.

I witnessed baseball-sized orange reddish ball of light kind of look like a flame. It came out from the very top of these tall trees in Spanaway Washington on 46th Avenue East the road turns into dirt. It Hovered down to eye level and just stay there for a moment.About 1min more or less. I sense that it had a curiosity towards me and then it hovered back up in between the trees and disappeared. That was pretty weird same thing happened 2012 July 4th in broad daylight I had came back to California firecrackers were going off my little niece called me out to the street because she noticed these two balls of light I go out to look and I also see these two balls of light hovering in broad daylight over my neighbor's house across the street they came at two different times same size same color. I don't know what these things are but I haven't seen them since. And I'm sure they are not Chinese lanterns by the way that they move

I'm Brazilian, and I believe that this story could indeed be true, here in Latin America there are most stories about giant snakes that inhabit the rivers of the forests, especially the Amazon. Certain legends say that even some cities were built on giant snakes. In our folklore we call them Boiúna or Boitatá.

Though a giant snake might be hard to believe for a prosaic person, a pre-historic version of a snake or any other animal might be lurking in areas extraordinarily intact like a rainforest. After all, it is also a scientifically-known fact that animals living in a secluded area might outgrow or be dwarfed by their relatives living in the well-known and well-mapped parts of our world. Youd be surprised snakes can get pretty large. There’s numerous stories of soldiers during the vietnam war flying over cambodia laos and vietnam seeing a snake that was over 100 feet long and could be seen from high in the sky moving quickly. There has been reports from locals in those areas that have been reporting it for thousands of years and still up til today. Theres photos which have been looked over and determined that they were genuine aswell as photo negatives that have also been determined to be real. As you said in remote areas animals can grow to be far larger than anything we have seen in Europe and the americas as its much more densely populated and has been densely populated for years.

My mother’s youngest brother was an original top gun instructor and flew the X15 and said whenever they flew Hydrogen bombs to Spain they were shadowed by flying saucers and if they turned in their direction they’d go off at Right angles at a speed of about 25,000 miles per hour and they were told never to talk about it! So I’m Puerto Rican but I grew up watching Spanish speaking news shows and such. The amount of crazy stuff that was shown on Univision and Telemundo for example is enough to give one nightmares…but I do remember a story about a big snake and it freaking out the locals sometime in the 90s. If the people who live along the river have a name for that thing, I do believe what Robert saw. The Honduran major seemed to have believed that too and understood what was going on. But it's much bigger... maybe it was then a 40-45 foot Green Anaconda. Titanoboa would've been far more robust, so moving at the speed it did wouldn't be possible. An Anaconda, on the other hand, would easily be able to slither along if the ground was fairly well submerged at high tide.

There have been MANY accounts from reputable people flying over the jungles in the Amazon seeing giant snakes and of one even striking out at the aircraft when they circled back to view the monstrous snake. People try to dismiss these accounts as the pilots exaggerating the size and length due to them being in the air but experienced pilots know perfectly well what they are talking about and it’s not so easily dismissed when they do another fly over closer to the ground to confirm their “lying eyes”. The military is notorious for “encouraging” lower ranking military men to alter their stories for reports as they don’t want incidents such as these on the record especially while in other countries where they are performing “sensitive” operations. I truly appreciate what you do by telling these stories so they can see the light of day especially since I grew up as a military brat and know full well the oddities that take place on military bases in our country let alone around the world. I remember my grandma was telling my mom a story of my grandpa working the highways. Between Shiprock and Gallup New Mexico, there is spot called Table Mesa. In that area, the workers encountered a snake pit. The work was put on hold when that happened. The following morning, the workers showed up and noticed a huge track from that snake pit, like it was the mother snake leaving. The tracks were huge, sounding like this story, it didn't look right, it didn't look natural or of nature. The area has really cool looking terrain, even Shiprock Pinnacle looks of prehistoric times or another planet.

A snake wrangler for the Sweetwater Texas roundup told me of having an encounter with a extremely large diamondback west of Shiprock into AZ. He was with his native american family which was traveling down the reservation road when they ran over a Diamondback stretched across their side of the road. He estimated it to be 15 ft long. He said the rattler struck the rear door leaving a smudge mark and a slight indentation in the heavy steel door.

I remember there was an episode of River Monsters with Jeremy Wade where he was somewhere in South America (can't remember specifically) where he was doing his usual thing looking for big fish. Interestingly, I remember him talking about a local legend of a snake that the people where he was had claimed to have seen. It wasn't an anaconda because the colours weren't right, black and orange as opposed to brown and green. And it was also much, much bigger. I can't recall the episode right now but I'll edit this when I do.

i spent six months in the amazon. one peruvian guide told a story about when he was in the military he was training in the jungle with some americans. one guy went to take a dump and the huge log he leaned against began to move. turns out its a gigantic snake and they killed it. he said each man took back a rib bone and were all hushed to secrecy. said there was moss growing on it and was perfectly camouflaged. the guy was very serious but i havnt really thought about it till i watched this video.

If you want me to keep my mouth shut that is one thing, but the emotional attacks he went through would have me reeling. The detail of this story that I find most interesting is how, according to the narrator, the giant snake rammed into the group of cows, then killed the one it presumably was going to eat by slamming the weight of itself down on its prey. That's not how any known snake attacks and kills, which makes the story...oddly compelling somehow. I suppose what I mean is that one would expect a made up story about a giant snake to have the snake constrict its victims in the usual way of big pyrhons, anacondas, boas, etc. So the idea of that this particular giant snake smashed instead of squeezed is either a detail to weird to be made up, or a brilliant bit of original storytelling.

Continuing with that train of thought, assuming there's any truth to the story, I wonder whether the beast had simply outgrown it's prey. Being simply so big it no longer had any need to revert to it's instinctive constrictor behaviour but rather adapted to an entirely new much more basic form of hunting behaviour. Kind of like a fox that'll tear off a chunk from a sheep and then leave the wounded animal for the farmer to discover the next day.

​@@GoldenShowers_43 I think this is probably the case, if it can quickly and easily kill or otherwise incapacitate an animal like a cow in the fashion, it can grab and swallow it and be back in the water and gone much faster than if it had to constrict it, which makes it's time on land in an unfamilier area lower, meaning it can get back to the water and a safe place to digest the meal sooner. On a side note this isn't the only story I've heard of Titanaboa-like monster snakes, infact there was a recent video online about a supposed sighting in a native vilage somewhere in a visually simular setting., i.e. near a river, low laying land etc. The area it happened around the village was marshy and had long reeds.

Who knows what lives deep in the jungles of our planet? How can we assume that something this big doesn't exist because it has not been discovered? The depths of the sea are the same, massive squid etc. I am sure the locals do know of these things, they live there after all. My dad was in the Marine Corp in '58, and he was told a similar story taking place in the Philippines a few years earlier. That snake was thick enough, it was taller than the wheel carriage of the jeeps.

Excellent story. Reminds me of the writings of the Roman antiquarian Aulus Gellius concerning a giant snake killed by legionaries on the banks of the Metaurus, a river near Carthage. The snake was skinned and sent back to Rome - it measured 100 ft. long.

@Dragon Force We killed Mammaoths with spears. A Giant snake would be the same effect as sending wave after wave of men after it or using a Balista. Big doesnt mean impervious or impossible to kill. Youd just have to be tricky or brave. Knowing the Romans a bit of both. Throw enough spears or cut into the thick hide of the beast enough it will bleed out. Fire a ballistia at it and its pinned and easy to strike. Remember the Romans knew how to fight , were drilled to die for the empire and would charge into impossible odds. So its not hard to believe they either sent enough men at it to overwhelm its size or used Ballistas to strike it down.

@Dragon Force You're forgetting its the Romans. They would do anything for their homeland much like Ruskies. They would send wave after wave if it meant , securing Glory or riches. Romans were a different breed of mem. Sofisticated and Bull headed. They would rather sacrifice hundreds to gain glory than give up a fight. Thats why we look up to them and want to make something as glorious as them. They without a damn doubt would charge at a 100'ft long snake without a care as long as they kill it in the Name of Mars or Jupiter. These men did not fear death only shame.

These series of interlocking stories are just wildly entertaining, I can say that much, and masterfully presented. Of course, as you noted, for a single man to experience two cryptid encounters and two UFO encounters, one at close range, is difficult to accept at face value. I also found the detail about the snake crushing the cattle with its head to be strange, and "un-snake-like," but I just asked ClaudeAI and I got this reply: "Yes, some snakes are known to use their head to literally crush or pin down smaller prey, in addition to constricting or swallowing it whole."

I retired from the Marine Corps after 21-years of service (service dating back to when you still got 3/4 retirement pay!)...I 'started life' as an 0311...and as young guys in the military know, 'god help those who volunteer'...but I did...eventually having served with Recon units (including Amphibious Recon, 3rd Marines). Of the units and 'actions' I have worked with that you won't find public records on, one of the 'most interesting' was 'Fast REACT'...a unit originating out of WWII and the 'need to patrol coastlines' to ensure no 'enemy surprise attacks' happened...it shifted-and-mutated to where we were basically 'the answer all, end most' unit that you find yourself asking 'who or what military unit would support this kinda stuff' when watching an episode of 'The X-Files'...most came out of Recon or Force Recon...and most of us eventually found our way to and through Coronado (SEAL school)...it is a real shame that the 'true, full story' of Fast REACT will never be told...I could write a library shelf full of some of the most amazing books, you'd never want to put down (hell, even the training was 'beyond belief' sometimes...like Jungle Expert school...'do you want your worms WITH or WITHOUT scrambled eggs?'...and so much more). This story made me want to comment that, simply because...well...let's say it is 'VERY Believable'...

Came in the Army in May of 75 right before Nam was officially declared over.Station on a Missel Site 1/1 ADA 32 Adcom when General Hagg was still "in charge" What I heard and seen from the horse mouth, where laughing or calling a Nam vet a lier would gureentee you a flight out of the 3rd floor window... Officers were not exempt eighter! Try to tell these stories to anybody who has neighter lived on a the razor edge of 6 sec life expendency for years...they just don't comprehend... in my opinion if you weren't in when you reported for pay, you weren't in. Excluding Iraqi & Afghanistan vets...

There is a documented story that a Belgium helo pilot took a picture of a giant python in the Congo . It was said to be over 100 foot long . You can see the snake from a aerial photos taken by the recon helo.

My mom used to tell me about a world war 2 fighter pilot that took/filmed footage of a snake so large that it was longer than the island it was on. She said she saw this on tv when they were showing strange footage the pilots had caught during the war. I was a little kid when she told me about this so I didn't know what to ask her for specific answers. Sorry that's all I have to help back up the author's claim.

My mother was a military brat and later went on to serve during WWII. When I was a kid she told me stories about pilots flying along the Amazon and seeing these big holes along the banks and having to pull up fast when these MASSIVE snakes would come shooting up out of those holes trying to snag the planes. There's a story of a Belgian guy who was flying really low over the congo back in the early 50s. He's interviewed on KZbin and said if he was any lower the snake could have attacked the plane. 15 meters long with a head the size of a horse.
