American Tourister Linex 55cm Full Review, What Fits In It, Pros Cons, What It's Like To Travel With

UPDATE: Hi everyone, a bit of an update. One of our awesome viewers has brought to my attention that this bag is only extendable in size in specific countries or regions. So if this is an important feature to you, please check on the website you are buying it from in the description to see if it has this feature. I purchased mine with extendable zip from strand bags in New Zealand. MY BAG UPDATE: 7 months in Europe, it is holding up strong, it did suffer a slight tear to the protective plastic covering the zip trail on one of the corners, this was i checked the bag in. Apart from that, it works as new, love the smooth wheels. Cheers, Ryan

EDIT: After some research, I have found that this model is exclusive to Strandbags; the regular Linex 55cm IS NOT EXPANDABLE. Hey Ryan! Thank you for the video. Is this the Linex 55 cm model? In the official American Tourister website, there is no mention of it being expandable, and I am afraid to buy it just to find that it is not. Thank you!

Hey there, good research, very weird that this design of the Linex is exclusive to Strandbags. I noticed the inside pocket design is also different in the regular Linex. You would think the expandable feature is worthwhile having on every bag... Thanks for the info.

Anyway, thank you for the video and for your insights in the other one (the one with the comparison with the Samsonite); I almost bought the Linex model because of your video, but when I found that it was not expandable, I decided to go for another one. I found a huge deal in a Roncato, and I went for it. I feel like I would have liked a bit more the American Tourister, but I don't travel that often (maybe a short flight every 4 years or so), and most of my trips are by car, so I don't really need to spend a lot of money on a fancy bag. Anyway, thanks again!

I watched this video before I bought this AT Linex online because I thought it was EXPANDABLE. How is my AT linex different from yours? I am very upset, I felt that you put the wrong name and this video deceived me.

Hi there, I appreciate your feedback, at the time of recording this video, this is how the Linex was produced. However as you will see in other viewer’s comments on this video, we discovered that the Linex available in New Zealand from strand bags, is a variant of the same bag from other regions that do not possess the expansion function. This detail was unknown to me as American Tourister sell the bag variant under the same name world wide.
