I am a Canadian Naval Vet. I served in the 60's & 70's as an Aviation Tech. I am proud of the Fact I Served. I spent time in the US while in the Service while in Port and spent time with Brave American Vets that served in Viet Nam. I sat in bars with them enjoying their company. I saw them Dive under the table when a waitress accidentally drop her tray. I was Deeply Moved at their reaction, induced from their time in country. So Yes I have an idea. I also visited the North Wall which is a Memorial to Canadians MIA in Viet Nam. Men and perhaps Women who volunteered to help Our American Neighbours. The Viet Nam Vet Responsible for the North Wall and three of his comrades searched for a place to Honor their brothers. They paid for and erected that wall, Not for their Canadian brothers, but their BROTHERS who gave their lives in Aid to Our Southern Brothers. I was moved to the point of tears when I talked with him, and that day many years ago. I made a Promise to him I would Visit the Wall in DC and I kept my promise. I touched that wall and I felt the loss of so Many Men and Women who gave the Ultimate sacrifice. When you are in the Armed Forces, No matter which Unit no matter which Country, you are Brothers! You all, each and Every one fought/fight, for your Country. I am Proud to say I served. I am Proud to say I feel the hurt when I read about a Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Sub Mariner, a cook no Matter who! Is lost. To THIS DAY, I grieve when I watch the news and see an American or Canadian or A Ukraine armed force member is lost..... I feel a loss. I would Never Ever even think of saying Anything sarcastic, Joke Intended???, Is no way to show respect for Any person who has served. Sir, you have the freedom to speak your voice. You have the right to your opinion, Just as I have had mine.

Did you serve on the Bonaventure having been a naval aviation tech in the ‘60’s? I feel it’s criminal Ottawa completely abandoned having any type of aircraft carrier capability, doesn’t even have to be a carrier the size of the Bonaventure, could be something like the Italian San Marco class dock, small about 500 feet long with a crew of 150-175 sailors, 8000 tons, looks like a mini carrier usually operates 4 helicopters (can also operate quite a few more drones if needed) amphibious dock in the back which would be great for disaster or peacekeeping ops. Just seems sad to see a country with a huge coastline and territorial waters have such a small navy

I deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 , there was 14 of us in the line section (sigs) out of that group 6 of them were reserves.. it was a rough helping to intergrate them into the reg force lifestyle and positions .. I have a split view on it ..

That's what our governor is for. The governor is a surrogate of the monarch. Their job is basically to be a yesman and for the ceremonial aspect of things. Which is why we just spent BILLIONS buying F-35s and a whole new fleet of high-end frigates, and ice breaking patrol ships for the North-West passage sovereignty missions, but probably won't have the staff to use them.. We just got out of Afghanistan, lost a LOT of members who elected not to resign new contracts, and are living the SAME issues with recruitment, and retention that is hurting every other NATO country right now. The UK can't man it's navy, the USA can't find people in shape enough to join, and the same goers for the rest. If you think the Canadian military is weak, you have no idea what you're talking about. The Canadian army is one of the strongest in the world and used to be the most feared in the world, before we were "forgotten". During WWI and WWII, Germans were most afraid of Canadians. The best marksmen in the world are (French) Canadian. The best army isn't the biggest or the most advanced, it's the strongest. If you deal the most damage to your enemy because they never expected you, that's a huge advantage. It's basically the Canadian army in a nutshell.

Basic provincial insurance is targeted more towards serious conditions that might kill you (e.g., If you live in a major city with a good hospital you can be in an OR within a day of being diagnosed with a deadly condition such as a malignant tumour) and non-serious routine care (e.g., Checkups, blood work, etc). Mid-level conditions that cause chronic pain but are non-deadly are often not taken seriously and wait times can be long to receive care for such conditions (e.g., knee replacements, etc), you generally want access to an employer or private health plan for such conditions. Mental healthcare and pharmaceutical coverage under basic provincial insurance is also terrible in Canada, you generally want access to an employer or private health plan for mental care and pharmaceuticals in Canada. The Canadian military provides members with access to a private health insurance plan which covers medicines and types of care not covered by provincial health plans.

The few Canadian soldiers and Air Force pilots and members of the navy we have are well-trained. But the Canadian military is vastly underfunded. And it's even worse when you have a Wolf. A** Prime Minister in a d****** liberal party run in the country. And both conservative and liberal governments well. They always kind of look up the Big Brother to the South to defend Canada. If the United States Wasn't Canada's neighbor I think canada would have a military equal to what Australia has. Canadian military's vastly underfunded. Another billion dollars have been cut from the Canadian military. Canadian military's old op sleep Moro. And it kind of makes my country. Canada look like a f****** joke on the world stage. Though I wouldn't criticize the soldiers. But I would criticize the government. Of Canada They're more worried about spending money on social programs foreign aid and gibbon Is 80 billion dollars to Ukraine plus another 50 million. Full disclosure. I'm a proud Canadian whose parents were liberated by US troops in 1945 and I've never served. Canadians cannot take a joke and many have no sense of what war and sacrifice entail. Peace comes with a price we don't want to pay because were all so "nice" and know the US will always be there to cover our shivering asses. Yes we suffered heavy losses in Afghanistan, Korea, both world wars and even Vietnam but that doesn't mean the mortgage is paid off. It's politics that limit our brave forces to use outdated equipment. We have the will but not the money or any sense of our own history.
